They will quite literally make any lost money from double dippers back from the number of views revenue from trailer 1 alone

I'm pretty sure the trailer on Youtube isn't monetised

As i'm using an adblocker (on PC) i get a pause when starting a YT video as it tries then fails to show the Ads, but the GTA 6 trailer starts straight up with no pause

Any guesses yet as to the release date for the consoles?

I'm going with Tuesday 8th April (2025)

In the trailer there's a clip where you see the body cam footage from a cop as they're making a bust, I reckon this clip is from the beginning of the solo player game and it has a date on it.. 08 - 04 = 8th April
I think that might have been a clue so that's my guess! :p

This was a really good video, just finished watching it and at the end Alex makes a really valid set of points based on the facts.

It was quite interesting watching some of those clips with the scenes constantly fast-forwarded and rewound, you really appreciate some of the insane detail.

The metallic paint on the cars looks incredible.

They didn't touch on it in the video, but the runners even kick up sand around their feet when running on the beach.

The engine generational comparison is quite neat, I know it's 10 years or more difference, but GTA 5 still looks good today (mostly) - But what a difference 6 has:

That vid looks pretty heavily modded for the GTAV footage, would take it with a pinch of salt. There is another comparison vid out there with pure original GTAV footage that doesn't match exactly scene for scene for obvious reasons, but seems like a more fair comparison of graphics.

Looked for my old backed up GTAV save file earlier as I never finished it. Might have to give it a go again to finish the story.

Hmm, i've edited this post as i'd set out a reason as to why i didn't think GTA games used the US date format,
but on further research i could be wrong so deleted it :D

But having mentioned this date in the comments of a couple of Saintsfan's previous videos, he's now speculating the same, maybe he saw my comment? maybe he didn't, who knows...

By resource they mean desire to be slightly less greedy. That is all lol.

Anyway, how it all began:

My man strolls in, simplifies everything down to playing games and bangs and crashes, basically asks the woman what she’s doing there, and calls them all nerds.

Why is everyone talking about a literal "pay per hour" system?

The GTA dev was saying how he thought the games should be priced per hour of expected game time (plus the terminal value, whatever that is)

"In terms of our pricing for any entertainment property, basically the algorithm is the value of the expected entertainment usage, which is to say the per hour value times the number of expected hours plus the terminal value that's perceived by the customer in ownership, if the title is owned rather than rented or subscribed to."

I doubt devs want to risk a literal "pay by hour" system. A lot of people probably get bored of games very quickly and likely don't put in a massive amount of hours into each game.

i used to use this conversion when i was younger and had more time to play, getting the usual comments from colleagues “why don’t you go to the cinema or bowling like normal people” explaining that (then) a 25-30 game would get me hundreds and in a few cases thousands of hours of fun where that much money would only get me at most a few hours.

Totally agree with this viewpoint.

Of course they'd have the resources. A company that size. They probably have it running on a PC already as its been in development for so long.
Of course they already have it running on PC thank to GTA VI videos leaks.

Of course they have the resources!!!

Rockstar Games has 6,220 employees count:

Over 6,000 employees worked on GTA V:

This should be same amount employees worked on GTA VI.

Over 3,000 employees worked on RDR2:

Very interesting reading. Absolutely brutal work long hours at Rockstar Games, employee worked on GTA V aged 30 something suffered a stroke.

Rockstar ‘Don’t Have the Resources’ for PC Port At Launch Says Former Developer

This is complete ******* in my opinion.
So the person in question they are quoting left rockstar a while ago I don’t think he worked on RDR 2. So his info may be out of date. This could very well be true in his tenure when the PS3 was king of the hill.

I wasn't going to post his video here because I didn’t think it added much to what people already know as I felt his answers were quite generic. However since we are talking about it here is the video in question

Yeah, with the way Xbox is designed now I can't believe it's anything like the challenge they were facing in the PS2/PS3 era.

It might take a bit more time to optimise and test for different configs, but I can't believe it takes anything like as much work as traditional ports did in the past.
