Graphics Card Warranties (UK Only) - Let's see how good they really are!

PowerColor - Taiwan ? ? ? - 2 Year Warranty (Avoid like the plague, RMA seems to be non-existant for european customers!)

OCUK deal with your waranty sent my Powercolor Eyefinity 5870 2gb back beacuase of a fualty fan Overclockers tested it on the 2nd of feb, When I asked how long it would take to get a replacment they said upto 28 days

Not sure where this info on the ASUS cards came from but it is a 3 year warranty and the RMA is done via the retailer.

My 4870X2 died on thursday 19 months into the warranty and i've sent it back to OcUK so i'll update this thread with the turnaround time and the replacement i get once i hear back.

*update*

Your RMA has been received at our offices. All RMAs are tested in compliance with manufacturer requirements. This testing process is currently taking around 5-7 days. Once this has been completed we will e-mail you again with an update on progress.

I had a XFX ATI Radeon HD 5850 die within warranty and in the process of RMAing. But I'm a little confused by some of the things said in this thread and on the actual product webpage. Specifically these:

“In the unlikely event of your card failing within 2 years, OcUK will replace your card with a brand new one, pending testing within our standard RMA terms and conditions.” (product page)

“XFX - 2 Year Warranty - If card bought from OcUK then they will deal with the warranty, even in the 2nd year, so should be no more than 3-5 working days... Don't buy unless from OcUK.” (post in this very thread)

Please don't listen to the above statement, it simply not true as 18 days later I'm still without a replacement card! :(

Also, why did my card go to XFX? The above, as I understand it, means that OcUK are responsible for replacing within OcUK’s RMA terms etc and you have already confirmed it’s broken. The gfx card is in stock according to your website. So why am I still without a working PC?

Shouldn't that read:

“In the unlikely event of your card failing within 2 years, OcUK send your card back to XFX and 28 days later if your lucky you might get a replacement, pending our own pretty pointless testing within our standard RMA terms and conditions. and then some further testing at XFX.”

Clearly from this thread I’m not the only person who interpreted the above the same way, so what is the correct meaning? If the warranty is with OcUK all they have to do is test it, confirm fault, send out a new card to me? Why am I still waiting on XFX’s testing when my warranty for the gfx card is with OcUK?

I’m pretty confused by the whole thing tbh… could someone who knows the facts please clear this up  Plus I think it might be a good idea to update the product page with clearly stated correct warranty information as its not really true is it

Yeah i just got that email :)

The product GX-174-AS on RMA****** has been sent back to manufacturer for repair or replacement. It will be returned to you as soon as we receive it.

I'm assuming i will get a replacement, going to be interesting to see what they offer me.

KFA2 - UK RMA Base - 2 Year Warranty (Galaxy's Euro Brand - RMA Base used to be BFG's)

Seriously considering buying a KFA2 card in the next couple of days, this is good to know. Anyone used their RMA?

EVGA - Germany RMA Base - 10 Year Warranty Only on some models (SC and F.T.W), other models 2 year Warranty (Around 2 weeks - possible graphics upgrade)

Currently own one of these with the 10 year warranty (F.T.W edition). Always heard good things about EVGA.

However...

Sapphire - Hungary RMA Base - 2 Year Warranty (Take over 4 weeks upto 8 weeks!) AVOID!

Sapphire have always been my preferred ATI brand, due to their Toxic and Vapor-X lines, i've never had to RMA anything to them but always assumed it would be decent service, are they really THIS bad? :/

Also...

PowerColor - Taiwan ? ? ? - 2 Year Warranty (Avoid like the plague, RMA seems to be non-existant for european customers!)

These guys are absolute scumbags, after paying £350 on one of their X850 cards many years ago, these jokers never bothered replying to my persistent emails. Even the retailer wouldn't help me. I seriously hope they go bust, they fully deserve to, and will never get my money again.

And yes, i'm still angry about it, five years later.

(XFX only have lifetime warranty in the USA - they have a UK RMA base but their customer support is really poor having read various forums, stay away from them for sure) Don't buy unless from OcUK.

Nope not my experience - now on the 19th day without my gfx card :( as we are currently awaiting a replacement from our supplier.

I'm confused by the warranty information on the item info page as it states:

***EXCLUSIVE Premium Priority 2 Year Warranty***

In the unlikely event of your card failing within 2 Years, OcUK will replace your card with a brand new one, pending testing within our standard RMA terms and conditions (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/support.php)

Which to me, and obviously others, means that "OcUK will replace your card with a brand new one" I'm still waiting on XFX to do thier thing, so what does that mean then? and TBH its a bit misleading and should be amended, no?

Have just recently finished dealing with EVGA's RMA department, was a 2 week turnaround from fault being reported to me receiving my replacement. Responses within 3-4 hours usually on their ticket system although some were minutes and others overnight (depends when you respond I suppose).

Gave me a GTX 480 SC in place of my broken 295 F.T.W. which I was pretty pleased about :) (no more micro stutter, woo!).

+ looks like I may get a Mafia 2 steam code from a promotion they have with 480's too.

Mmm damn just bought an ASUS, but I was under the impression that my rights as a consumer are with the retailer and not the manufacturer so if it did develop a fault, I would go back to the retailer to resolve any issues and not the manufacturer despite what the warranty says.

Also if the repair period is over what is considered a reasonable amount of time (4-8 weeks is not reasonable) then it is upto the retailer to compensate you with a replacement item.

LOL you're screwed!
I think that BFG have kindof reformed as KFA2 with the backing of Galaxy. Maybe if your card does go pop then you will be ablr to get a 20% off voucher or something like that. Worth a try

Brilliant. I still have a £200ish faulty card of theirs lying in my old PC that I keep meaning to get RMAd. Looks like i'll be throwing it on ebay for a fiver for someone to strip down :S
