Great First day back at work...

Tonight, i believe i was targeted again, I had started walking to work due to what had happend, but tonight, i decided to drive as i wanted to go for a long drive after work because i havnt done one for a long while, and i do like doing a random 2-3hour drive in the middle of the night.

Full story goes:

I moved my car to the front of the store at 9pm, right where i was working so i could keep an eye on it. While i was finishing up some jobs, i notice a half cast guy, walk up to the car, stop, get on his phone, walk around the car, then walk off, into the store i think. 10minutes later he came back from the other direction, phoned up someone again, and this time a van parked 2 spaces from it, and he got in the van. (LS07 WXH).

Thinking to hell with this, i walked out, got in my car, and drove off, out of the store, onto the main road, but back into the burger king right next to our store. 5minutes later a mate left so i asked him to check the car over. He phoned me and told me the van (same van) was parked up opposite it over there now. So i run out the staff exit, gave the guys evils and sped off back to the front of the store. At this point my mate had come back, so i phoned the police and told em everything, the number plate is now on there system so will get stopped and searched. My mate waited outside while i finished off my final jobs in work (20minutes). Great mate.

Sigh :( :( :(

its not uncommon for them to come back for seconds once they've waited for you to get it sorted.

Really does seem as though thats them.

Really feel for you mate.

One part of me thinks the only way to get this over with is to leave the car outside as honey pot, once you've got some good quality cameras pointing directly at it and some on the surrounding area.

All this hassle over a Fiesta. You've got some proper boneheads operating in your area.

7 cars done in the last 2 weeks. Ive personally seen 4 of them (mine + 3)

Phate, Tesco still.... sigh :/

yeh honey pot or not, i aint going through all that pain again of fixing it, and as Janesy said for a Fiesta for christ sake. During the day i park it at the garage, right under a camera + ANPR camera so its recorded all day long, however at 10pm the garage shuts, ANPR goes off, and the lights go off so the camera is useless, hence i moved it right infront of the store... Yet they still didnt seem that botherd. What a joke. Security couldnt give a **** either... Waste of space.

Not the best solution and not a guarantee that its going to work, but have you thought about investing in an alarm with perhaps motion or proximity sensors?

What a **** who did that to your car, bah such people don't deserve to live, I hope they die a painful death. Luckily still never been victim of theft or vandalism to my cars.

I think the sensible approach is not to drive to work as it sounds like that's another common link between both incidents.

Other than that, what can you do? It's pointless investment in expensive alarms etc as that relies on someone disturbing them. I think you just need to suck it up and come to terms that someone has taken a liking to your car which it seems has a bodykit which is very easy to steal.

Feel for you Overlag. I live in a place where car crime is virtually 0 (Picture Gibraltar as one big gated community/town...), but the thought of it + reading this thread just makes me tense up with anger. Scum.

Feel for you mate. I've also been targeted by ****** in the past - I was alongside a very dodgy looking transit with a handwritten numberplate on a roundabout when I exited for the local supermarket. The transit carried on round the roundabout and I thought nothing of it. Until I parked up and they came round the corner in the car park.

They parked up about 50 metres away and just sat there watching me until I came out of the shop and they got out and started walking towards me, I sped up and so did they until we were all running. Luckily managed to get in, pull away and smash it out of the car park before they got to me (including a very awesome powerslide on exit :D).

I really don't wish to repeat that.

doesnt it make you want to puke at the thought of living in essex?

makes me sort of glad that my cars are as anonymous as they are

gutted for you

hey not all of essex is bad!

Its always been a problem with fast fords. My dads escort rs was always missing pieces that were stolen. Worst one is when it was on bricks when my dad went to get my sisters tellytubby for xmas (when everyone wanted one) outside a toys r us.

That is terrible. Glad you're are okay. Have you told the police?

Blimey, blast from the past.

I didn't report it at the time - no point.

I think both you and I know what they were up to but they never got to me and as such no crime was committed.

Numberplate could have been changed in 5 seconds as it wasn't real.

you should bulk up a bit lad, then people would be scared of you :p

What sort of van was it out of interest?

I was followed a bit suspiciously by a white van on my way home today and I happen to drive a blue fiesta st!

It pulled over into an empty closed garage near my house once I'd pulled over to park and then pulled off and drove on.

Reg given would suggest it's a Ford Transit Conn T200 L75 (Panel Van).

Bit of a holy thread revival above but i read the entirety of the post because my sister had the rear spoiler from her black ST stolen from outside her house 3-4 weeks ago. They snapped the fittings in the process so i imagine it would be pretty pointless to anyone?

Anyway the guys who were involved (3 of them) were caught stealing from another vehicle, there house was raided and hundreds of car parts were found. The spoiler from my sisters car was found and matched her car (same color/snap lines etc). They now have to pay back the cost of new part/fitting etc but from what I gather it could be over a long term.

Some right scumbags out there :(.
