Great news! Brown Sacked

Ever since he publicly embarrassed the players at Man City last year it has been expected he will go. Spent a lot of money at a club which doesn't have any. Made questionable signings. Been outspoken. Am very surprised he didn't go at the end of last season to be honest as he had been well and truly found out by then.

Saw it coming.

Remember that game against stoke earlier in the season. They panned the camera to pearson a couple of times when they were a goal down, the stonewall face of disapointment on his face was a shocker.

That same face was present on saturday when they lost a goal to arsenal.

No doubt about it, he was going to sack the guy if they'd lost to stoke, id imagine he'd have probaly kept it again if they'd have beaten arsenal.

No love of either brown or pearson though, the way browns carried on over the last couple of years has totaly destroyed any of the wave of good faith people like me have in the underdog.

The chairman in my eyes has little or no realisation of the game of football.

Phil Brown gets humiliated by Jeff Stelling!

PMSL...did that really happen or was it an edit done by someone on youtube??..either bloody hilarious:p

Mind you i dont know how he kept his cool...i would have told Stelling to **** off:D

I don't understand all the dislike for this man. He's no Neil Warnock.

I didn't mind Phil Brown until he lied about Fabregas last season. His story about Fabregas spitting at his assistant changed about 3 times over the course of a week and in the end there was no shred of proof of the incident even happening.

I think in the end there was even proof it didn't happen, so it was all a lie. What a ****.

Yeah apparently it happened on the pitch and Brown was the only witness to it despite cameras everywhere and despite no footage of Fabregas being close to either of them. Then it suddenly happened in the tunnel... then the story just evaporated along with Brown's credibility.

Just showing more and more what you simply can't do, comprehend, string two sentences together, or "get" football.
Oh that hurts. The man who didn't even understand how paragraphs, punctuation, or capitalisation worked a few months back says I can't string two sentences together. I have been mortally wounded already.

They're joint 3rd worst scorer and 2nd worst conceded is the WORST average in the league. Pompie are the worst scorers but aren't close to the worst conceders, hence Hull having a 11 goal WORSE goal difference, Hull have the single worst goal difference in the league. Keep in mind Villa's scoring record for a top half team pushing for 4th, is ruddy awful, 37 goals, Utd are not far off having double the goals scored, but that doesn't tell the whole record, goals scored AND goals conceded gives you an accurate idea of where teams are placed, and goal difference paints a fairly decent picture of the state of a team in the league.
Yeah GD paints a decent picture of the league, but its not the be-all and end-all, because we don't sort the table according to GD, do we? Birmingham "don't deserve" to be up challenging for a Europa spot based on the GD, but they are. We sort the league by points, not goals, and on that front, I'm sorry, your beloved Portsmouth just haven't done enough. Hull have accrued more wins and draws than Pompey so far, so tough luck, I'm afraid they get to be above them in the table, because that's how things work. And you say I don't get football?

You could have won 24 games to now on Pompies goal scoring record, if they won them all 1-0 and never conceded
Yeah, but they didn't, so cry me a river.

As for Pompie, you've failed to watch them all season, they hadn't remotely improved in the past few weeks, they've played on and off good football throughout the season, theres 3-4 games they've been entirely screwed by ref's when they should have won and I can't say the same for Hull.
I'm afraid I don't have your ability to watch every game ever broadcast this season and recall it with perfect clarity, but nahhhh sorry, Pompey have been dreadful from what I remember seeing of them. Two games against Arsenal they were clueless, and their game against City was so dire I'm surprised the entire KC crowd didn't commit suicide.

I'm not saying Hull play amazing Brazilian one-touch football, and they've had their fair share of poor games (for some reason, nearly every game against similarly-placed teams is a complete bore-fest*), but they've played with some good style at times too. The wins at the KC against Man City and Everton spring to mind immediately. Geovanni, Bullard and Hunt are all good footballers, and despite being managed by an ex-student of Sam Allardyce, they rarely ever play direct/long football, as what's the point, when your midfield is clearly your best attribute?

Blackburn almost have 50% more points than Hull, Stoke DO have 50% more points than Hull, but you think Hull are better than both?
I never said that. You said Hull deserved to go down for playing boring football, which they don't. I listed teams that play less interesting football. I never said that was the same as playing badly. Stoke play very simple football and get results. Blackburn likewise. But they get the wins, so fair play to them, they deserve to be where they are. Funnily enough, that's a concept you seemed to be struggling with earlier in your post.

Also, I knew I'd get a Stoke fan chirping in when I dared to mention them. Does that chip on your shoulder start bleeping when a post mentions your team?

*Getting back to the original point, I think this may well be part of the reason Brown went. He was great at getting his team motivated for the big games, but "six-pointers" of the sort they have remaining in the season, he was terrible at. Over the last two seasons, Hull really haven't won enough of the games they "should" be doing better at, equally-placed teams at the KC.

Just to chime in that Pompey have looked woefully inadequate in games I have seen them play in this season.

What's Pearson done for you to dislike him? Honest question, it's just all the City fans I know have nothing but great things to say about him. He took them from the basement of the professional league to the Championship, went off and did a creditable job steadying the ship at Derby, and is now back to doing the same at Hull.

You know he wasn't in charge until recently right? It's Duffen who's to blame for the complete lunacy of Hull's recent spending.

I do like the idea of you telling people they don't get football.

League postitions are handed out based on Points, not goals scored.

Hull might concede a lot of goals, (because they're ****) but they have still gotten more points then Pompy, which to me at least tells me that Pompy are worse then Hull.

Goal difference doesn't show you the state of a team in the league, points do.
