Although I hate to say it, I think Maradona's against us in the World Cup is the greatest goal of all time, it had everything in an extremely important game.
You reckon? He went past a couple of players, most of whom backed off, and to this day I'm still not convinced he put it in himself, considering he has no right foot whatsoever.Big Kev said:Although I hate to say it, I think Maradona's against us in the World Cup is the greatest goal of all time, it had everything in an extremely important game.
Davey_Pitch said:George Weah for Milan against someone I can't remember. He controlled a corner in his own penalty, then proceeded to run the entire length of the pitch, going past 3-4 players in the process, before slotting it home.

If it's the one where he lobbed the keeper it was against Wimbledon.VonClinkerhofen said:And continuing the theme of mazy runs the length of the pitch:
Dalian Atkinson for Villa, I seem to remember it got goal of the season on MOTD approx 1992, can't remember who it was against

I think he got the ball in his own half and ran through half of the Wimbledon team and then lobbed it over the keeper from outside the box. So it doesn't really weaken your argument because it was a class goal and he did take the ball a fair distance.VonClinkerhofen said:Kind of weakens my argument somewhat
