Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [12th - 15th March 2021]

Well he went clean through the player... How is it not?!
It's 100% a foul, the issue is 99 times out of 100 if an attacker gets his shot away and is then fouled, the penalty isn't given. Hopefully we're going to see these given more often moving forwards.

A penalty is a foul in the box. Which it was. Can't believe people are saying a late tackle which clatters someone isn't a foul.

Because the idea of a penalty is to compensate the attacking team for a foul that could have prevented a goalscoring opportunity. If you make a complete mess of your shot then that opportunity is gone. There are plenty of things I don't think should be penalties however. Smacking the ball out of play just before a defender grazes you for example.

A penalties a penalty because it's a foul in the box. I've argued this for ages in this forum that more need to be given

If a midfielder makes a cross field ball but screws it up and is then taken out a fouls given.

It's a pet hate of mine..like a lot of things. Mane gets taken out a lot after he shoots

No it's not. You could get a penalty for a handball by a defender in the box with no attacking player anywhere near him. It's still a penalty regardless of a goalscoring opportunity. Whether it's a goalscoring opportunity is irrelevant. A foul in the box is a penalty.

Has Kane not got a yellow for that.

And Lemela deserves that. Absolute **** of a player.

Kane consistently gets away with stuff like that. It's mental. I actually thought Lamela's second yellow was a bit harsh but it's proper brain dead.

He's been asking for a sending off the whole match. The guy is an absolute tool and is antagonistic in almost every game he plays in.

The thing with Lamela is that he does that kind of thing so often that from time to time he'll get pulled on it
