Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [17th - 19th Sept 2021]

BAd subs from Ole.
McSauce hasn't played for a month. Ronaldo looks leggy and he takes off Pogba and Greenwood. Not inspiring game management from Ole

We are hilariously bad at defending and closing teams down. Rice literally ran into a dead end there with 3 United players around him and one WH. He wasn't put under any pressure and that one WH player was just left open in a metre of space to take the pass and put a cross in. We are utterly baffling. I think this is one of the reasons we are so erratic. Opposition teams are always given the time and space to play how they want. We don't impose ourselves on games.

That could easily have been a penalty. Defender stuck his leg out and then tried to get out of the way when he misses the ball but it was too late by then.

Because he wants to play? He talks about how much work he's put into trying to recover from an injury that has ended multiple careers (I think it's pretty similar to what Umtiti is struggling with) How is it poorly timed?
Poorly timed, being to ‘hell and back’, whilst getting paid a fortune whilst there have been loads of people struggling financially and personally, during the pandemic maybe?

Anyway, how many chances do we need to get ahead! Argh!

You're downplaying the mental affect of not being able to play football when that's their life.

Money doesn't make you happy, it makes living easier. Behave.

I can't believe I need to explain this, but having money doesn't make depression ok.

The money makes little difference once you’ve got millions in the bank.

Players like Bellamy have spoken out about suffering from depression whilst still playing. Jones wasn’t at all comparing his struggles with those on the breadline during the pandemic. He’s allowed to speak about his personal struggles using whichever terms work for him.
