Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [18th - 20th December 2021]

The PGMOL regularly provide explanations for big decisions already. How does it help if the ref says the same things live on camera? The whole thing will be abused by Sky & BT looking for cheap headlines.
Because the PGMOL is a faceless entity. Having the individual most closely involved in a decision come out and discuss it makes a huge difference

Here's a shock, Kane didn't think he should be sent off, even thinks he got the ball!!!!

On if he could have been given a red card: "No. Definitely not. It was a strong tackle but I thought I won the ball. Obviously I haven’t seen it back. When you are playing against top sides and fighting for points sometimes there’ll be strong tackles. They checked it and we move on.

They're just going to say the same thing though. You're not going to get any honesty, it will be the exact same bs excuses that the PGMOL wheel out already.

If you really want to put a face to the excuses then fine but it will 100% be abused by Geoff Shreeves and Des Kelly looking for a bit of controversy for good tv.

So Tierney didnt give the penalty because he thought Jota stopped on purpose. Wow just go and have a look at the monitor and youll see that wasnt the case.

What else would he say? Surprised Shreeves didn't get a monitor ready to make him watch it.

Stupid from Robertson to give the ref/var a chance but how on earth have they decided that was a clear and obvious error and Kane lunging studs up wasn't?

Agreed, all tackles like that should be an instant red, but it doesn't always happen for some reason. It's not down to Kane being the 'golden boy', it's because VAR and refs are useless. Robertson got away with exactly the same last season (probably even worse than what he got send off for yesterday).

He got the ball 1st in your image and the follow though hit the spurs player, completely different to Kane who got none of the ball and was running full pelt and lunging

Kane wasnt sent off because Robertson jumped and didnt take the full brunt of the "tackle". Absolute nonsense from PGMOL again...to be expected though to be honest.

Kane was just going for the ball in that case, so it's a 50/50. Everything boils down to the ref's and stockley park's opinion. That's why everyone will be upset about every decision, especially Klopp who is absolutely unhinged.

Unhinged? Thats a bit strong no? If Robertsons foot is planted hes facing a year out, i fully understand why his manager might be a bit annoyed about it tbh.. Theres going for the ball and then theres what Kane did which was reckless and dangerous.

So hand on heart and remembering to take those glasses off, do you really think Kane didn't go for the ball yesterday? As has already been said, there are numerous examples of similar challenges. All should be reds regardless, of how injured the player might be.

I don't believe in this day and age many players, if any go out to "do" a player like Steve McMahon, Keane or Vinnie Jones used to.

Give the "glasses" chat a swerve, you do it a lot and its boring now.

I dont care if his intention is get the ball or not...its irrelevant. It doesnt change the "tackle" nor does it change the outcome. It was a ridiculous and dangerous challenge and Robertsons lucky he managed to evade lost of the impact.
