Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [25th - 27th April 2023]

Fully expecting a loss tonight, we don’t play well at everton and we don’t win when on Bt sport(bodes well for Europe next season    )and we’re playing in the cursed “Saudi” shirt
I hope you're wrong, but Brighton gave Forest a free pass last night so I wouldn't be surprised if Newcastle were on the same memo

Ake was injured and Akanji went left back for the first time this season or at least he hasn't played there much. City's back four was just as much patchwork. Regardless of the quality they have. The reason why ourselves and Madrid have had so much success with City is that we play on the counter with pace. Arteta is not going to defeat Pep playing toe to toe. They are just too good at what they do. That is not saying Arsenal cannot get to the levels of City but City have been doing this for 6 years now.
And how many league titles have you beat them to during these years of “so much success”? :p

Out of the last 11 games against City which dates back to 2020. We have won 5, drawn 1, lost 5 so even. Considering how bad we are that is a good record against City. Arsenal have lost to City 10 times out of the past 11 games against them. Not once have we tried to go toe to toe because we are simply inept at that yet we played to their weakness. Arsenal went toe to toe pretty much every time and be pushed aside all the time. What I am trying to say is if Arteta was more streetwise instead of being stubborn you could have had a chance to beat them. Especially with the youth and pace of your forward line.

What's the best way to beat city?

His been on the bench for most of the year lol
This is what I don't get, if he's injured what's the point in having him on the bench, we needed a refresh in midfield last 4 or 5 games yet he still just sits on the bench. Should have sold him to villa if he's not wanted

Either overwhelm them like Liverpool have done in recent times or you hit them on the counter. Honestly, Arsenal of a few months ago would have had a chance at the former but your form has massively dropped recently. The energy levels have dropped too much to be able to go toe to toe with City and prosper.

I really hope City only get 9pts, maximum, over their next 7 games. Also, Arsenal to get a maximum of 7pts over their remaining games. Arsenal getting 7pts is more of a realistic prediction.

I am struggling to see how City could mess up.
