Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [28th - 30th December 2021]

That’s clear TBH, he’s upset the whole balance of your team and taking a place from a great prospect in sancho

Some people will never agree that hes the problem though. They see his goals. They see the goals that the rest of the team has scored and in their minds that proves that we would be in relegation form without him because he couldn't possibly be negatively effecting the way the team plays with the net result of less goals overall for the team.

Anyway, back on topic.

I'm not looking forward to todays game at all. I will watch it while I work but I expect a very hard fought win if we do win.

I would love to see Rangnick drop Ronaldo. Play Cavani and see how different we are with a forward who works for the team. There are other massive issues currently but Ronaldo is just making everything harder IMO.

While there is an issue with Ronaldo, I don't think it's nearly as big as some people are making out. The team have been hit and miss since Ole took over years ago. Long before that, too.

The last couple of performances have been, and I can't stress this enough, horrifically bad. That isn't down to Ronaldo. I get all of the arguments about it from both sides, but there are far greater issues IMO.

I think Cavani and Ronaldo up top would work, with Van de Beek and maybe Sancho playing as the 10's. Assuming we stick to 4222.

Let's see.

Edit: looks like Lukaku has given an interview to Sky Sports (somewhere) and thrown his toys out of the pram. Wants to go back to Inter. Such an overrated player.

Sancho was woeful before CR7 signed for us.
You would know as I don’t watch ManU unless they are playing the toon, I wouldn’t have thought you paid that amount of money to sit on the bench(DVB exempt :p) it’s always hard to come into a new league and hit the ground running, so all he might have needed was time, time that Ronaldo is current taking up.

18/19 was the first time we had several players all scoring 10+ goals I think since the 95/96 season. 19/20 Martial, Rashford and Greenwood got 20 goals a piece in all comps. Yes Ronaldo does score a lot of goals but goal scoring was never our problem. I would argue that whilst Ronaldo does and will score goals for United he takes away more goals that would be scored by that combined 3.

Pressure already on Rangnick. Media getting on his back for not having the same impact that Conte has had. The job is a massive one at United. To coach a team that has relied on individuals for such a long time and core of players who are on at least their third manager in 4 years was always going to take a fair bit of time. It's all very well ringing your hands about McFred but sadly there is nothing better and they are playing in an ill disciplined team. People criticise them for losing the midfield battle vs Newcastle and whilst Fred had a bad game you also have to appreciate that tactically Howe out thought Rangnick in the first half by putting a third player in the middle of the pitch - who put in a motm performance. United don't work well enough as a team and I'm looking to see progress in that department. Lets see what they can do tonight.

Fred has a bad game because of what is asked of him. That game against Liverpool where we played 424 was like giving Fred a Banana for the D Day landings.

Its pathetic that they are running stories about Rangnick already. Hes been in charge for 3 games, 2 wins and one draw and for most of that time there has been massive issues with COVID. Hes also trying to completely change the way we play.

Every time Ole won a game after losing a few the media would fawn over us "turning a corner" despite getting outplayed in the game.

Utterly ridiculous and shows the level of competence in the sports journalism world.

Ragnick already coming out with the excuses. Do not forget Fergie whooped this man 6-1 in a champions League semi.

Are you kidding me? He's had 3 games, 1 month, and a COVID outbreak.

People are just... odd.

Conte is being lauded now and a few games into his Spurs reign, he lost against a team nobody had ever heard of.
