Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [29th - 30th October 2022]

Klopp won't say it and the players won't but I genuinely belive majority of them are burnt out.

I don't think we strengthened enough when we should have in the summer, I've said it past two summers the midfield has needed work and been shot down everytime...turns out I was right.

I also think even Klopp himself looks knackered tbh

Andy Carroll also missed 2 sitters. He was the big buy for Liverpool but he has been a flop so far.

I disagree with Nunez comments so far.

His issue is he hasn't done what Haaland has done so there fore being labeled as a flop.

It's too early to judge him but the positives are there. I can name many strikers who miss sitters it happens.

He has similar stats to Rashford who isn't a natural number 9.
And similar Stats to Jesus who by media standards is being praised to high heaven.

I'm not saying Nunez is a world beater etc as right now he isn't but he has great potential imo.

The main issue is FSG didn't get enough players in, 3 attacksrs out and just 1 in.

Midfield that's needed a revamp for years at bare minimum younger players in 2 season ago to build up a new trio. It hasn't happened.

We may of challenged all on fronts last season yet this year we came in with less depth another key issue thanks to FSG.

Who is praising Jesus? He was a flop at Man City. Why would he change at Arsenal? Jesus praising is pure media drivel. He was a one in three striker at the best team in the league. What makes you think he is going to improve in a worse team with a worse manager. ;)

But yeah Liverpool cannot compete with City, neither can United. You can argue how much our net spend is compared to cities but we have had zero investment in facilities and if we are not careful we will end up like Barcelona as the Glazer's are spending money we really do not have.

Go take a better look at Jesus stats. Not just goals and assist.

1.5 key passes a game vs 1.1 and 4 yellows vs 1 red. You know what, that's clear proof Jesus is way better, not sure why everyone else doesn't see it.

In the real world, the signing of the season has a goal contribution every 122 minutes and the flop every 103. I'll take that for a player that's new to the league and playing in a stuttering team.

I would say you've lost your head but that might be considered bad taste given who your owners are.

Did I say it was? Media are saying Jesus is amazing and sun shines out of his arse according to them.

Nunez stats are not drastically different yet many here say he has flopped, and I still think its only cause he hasn't done as well as Haaland.

On another note if Newcastle go back to being poor we probably won't hear from you any way, got more active soon as money rolled in and performances improved... funny that

With addons. They do count!!!
Spent....spent...

Past tense. Have they spent 85m to sign him. No. Plain and simple. Might the transfer cost 85m. Yes. Plain and simple. If you had said Liverpool had signed Nunez for a potential 85m I'd agree but you didnt, you said they had already spent 80 odd million which they havent. Its not debatable. Your tense was incorrect and for a reason to fit a narrative.

People getting very sensitive hah.

Liverpool attacking stats are great. Not my fault you have Benny Hill and Co in defence and teams are runing your midfield ragged.

Your recruitment has been poor.

Keep throwing your eggs into one basket.

Was there no alternative to the CM that went to Real Madrid from the french league?

People aren't sensitive you're just being called out on the absolute garbage you're talking. No one has even mentioned Isak yet who was a fraction less then a striker who's actually getting numbers.

Team look dead on their feet, no covering, no desire, no covering for team mates. They're knackered physically and mentally. Saw Brunidish's tweet last night that Leeds ran 11km more in the game, we played essentially a man down.

Yeah the combination of playing every single game possible in a season and increasing age has knackered a lot of players. Can anyone name another team who played every game possible in a season and how they performed the following year?

Its more than just that though of course, its the culmination of several factors all coming to fruition and its probably going to be a long road out of it. I still think that FSG will sell up rather than shell out. Cash in their chips while they can sort of thing. Who knows, maybe Liverpool will be the next team to be backed by oil giants. That could be pretty detrimental to the league, imagine the combination of that wealth + the huge Liverpool name + the huge Liverpool history.
