Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [29th - 31st Jan 2021]

Comment from someone messaging into BBC Sport...and quite a good point!

Worth pointing out that 10/11 players on the pitch for Leeds played in the Championship last season. Even without their big signings, they are still more than holding their own!

#LFC line up v West Ham: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Phillips, Henderson, Robertson, Wijnaldum, Milner, Thiago, Shaqiri, Salah, Origi.

Subs: Adrian, Kelleher, Firmino, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jones, Minamino, Tsimikas, R. Williams, N. Williams.

Origi starting well that's us already off to a bad start before kicking the ball

Apart from Matip, Jota and a couple of midfielders, the drop off in quality from our first 11 is shocking.

Edit: Milner's third game in a week? He's ended up injured the last few times he's played this many games in such a short space of time.

I thought Minamino and even Tsimkas would be getting a couple more appearances...I know Klopp likes to involve players slowly but they have barely featured.

Reckon he is playing it safe to get themselves out of this slump?

Origi must be as good as Ronaldo in training to be getting these chances now as I can't think of any other reason.

Don't care if he scores today, I still think he is not and never will be consistently good for us as a long term solution

Besides his one good spell of which I'll always be grateful for the goals he got he needs to move on

We're going to want 20+ million for him but who's going to pay for a striker that doesn't score and doesn't work hard for the team?
Not a clue then again we sold ibe for 16mil I think it was so maybe some how we will sell him for far more than he is worth or like origi usual does some how he will get another contract.

Rumour that Mane's now injured as well :o

Hopefully just having a rest and will be on the bench but concerning if not.

Edit: Fantastic strike from Bamford.

Its a muscle injury apparently, so hopefully shouldnt be out for long. Looking at the squad today, its hard to see who would score apart from Salah, so I imagine he will very much be the focal point of every attack, so if West Ham concentrate on keeping Salah quiet they should be able to get an easy result.
