Lol they got a penalty after the whistle should have been blown and we got a man sent off who shouldn't have been then they spawn an absolute worldy. Can't account for that especially with how we were playing. Taking Laca off is pretty confusing though.

People need to learn that there are consequences when you start changing laws. Red cards for denying clear goalscoring opportunities in any circumstances was fine imo. The change in the law, so that it cannot be both a pen and a red, is what has caused this confusion and why this incident is a red and a defender just sliding straight through the back of an attacker almost certainly wouldn't be.

They couldn't just change the law and make all pens for goalscoring opportunities yellows or else you'd have defenders just hauling forwards down when they're about to tap the ball into an empty net. They had to put the condition in that if you're not playing the ball then you can still be red carded. And this is a consequence of that.

Absolutely nothing wrong with either sending off.

Exactly but that will always happen. Theres no way you can have that law without every so often something looking harsh. Theres no point blaming the ref / VAR as its the right decision.

I think its quite clear that regardless of the wording of the rules that the first sending off was harsh. Completely accidental slight coming together.

No arguments for the second one.

It looks harsh but they literally followed the laws of the game. They couldnt give a yellow for that...he hasnt made an attempt for the ball.

So will Sheff United perform a miracle and stay up? I've no idea what happened to them they looked certs for Europe last season before the season got suspended and have been shocking ever since up until recently.
