Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [2nd - 5th Feb 2021]

The rule needs to change. If the VAR ref needs to start drawing lines than it's not an offside.

They need to draw lines for any offside that is remotely close. The issue is that any offside that has all players involved moving at pace is going to have a reasonably degree of uncertainty. The moment the players foot strikes the ball and where he strikes the ball could make a difference of a few inches in where the players are. I would rather they had some sense when applying these decisions. If you are not 100% and taking 5 minutes to decide, give the attacker the benefit of the doubt.

But they only draw the lines because they're not 100% sure so as you say they should give the attacker the benefit of the doubt. :)

Hope AWB isn't injured. Usually the reason you don't make all three subs by the 60th minute.

What do you mean? The lines are so that they can decide where peoples limbs etc are in a 3D space and make sure the line is at the correct angle based on the video frame they are using. Without it you would easily get offsides wrong when the last defender and the attacker were 6 inches apart.
