Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [30th Apr - 2nd May 2021]

Of course I'm referring to the ones causing trouble. Chelsea had a good peaceful protest the other week and I was very happy to see it and they did it in the right manner, no violence I'm aware of and they didn't cause a game to be postponed.

Good, I agree it would be better if peaceful and done legally, but this has really driven the point home, not that it'll probably change anything. Even then I'm not saying it's right or I agree with it, it's a tough one.

If I were a Glazer why would I sell, I'd just stay away from Old Trafford (Not fans anyway so why would they bother watching) and just keep milking my money from them, I wouldn't give a poo about a few fans protesting wouldn't bother me sat in my mansion in the States.

Gotta love the 'right to protest' messages people are rolling out, yes peaceful protests not the breaking and entering, trespassing and causing criminal damage we've seen today.

Driven to it :D Bore off. Must be so hard being second in the league and spending a ******* fortune every summer.

This exactly, talk about entitlement can't believe how the Glazers have run Man Utd into the ground and left them bankrupt without a pot to **** in.

The league have gotta stamp on this incident and apply at least a match forfeit, if they don't then what's to stop other fans doing the same when something doesn't suit them (eg Spurs fans doing it when Kane or someone is injured) and getting the match postponed to a later date.

How will banning them from the ground stop them if they're committing crimes? crime is a matter for the justice system.

Because if you are that invested in United, the threat of a lifetime ban from watching the club you love live should make you think twice about breaking and entering the grounds.

Its not an either/or situation. If they have committed a crime the police should be dealing with them but the club should also punish them.

What did you think of Neville saying FSG were acting desperately over the last few months?

Is he over egging it or is there a bit of a struggle there?
His rant, re Liverpool, was mostly factually incorrect. Unfortunately Neville cannot bring himself to criticise Utd without attacking Liverpool. Regarding that particular point though, he couldn't be more wrong. They raised $750m in capital barely a month ago - to put that into perspective, that would cover the lost revenue for Liverpool & the Red Sox 2 or 3 times over. From a financial pov, they couldn't be in any stronger a position and you're likely to see them purchase stakes in more sports sides and sports related businesses in the coming months and years.

I'm not defending that, it's terrible, but it's still a serious minority whether you agree or not. I'm sure you'll be happy to clarify you were only referring to the ones in the ground causing trouble, or outside the hotel, then it's fine.

Seeing the pictures of what went on outside and when they were moved on, I'm not sure you could call them a minority, never mind a serious minority. Looks like most of them at the ground were involved in some pretty unsavoury behaviour.

Looking at the timing of Liverpool & Utd's remaining fixtures, the game can pretty much only be played tomorrow. One or both are playing every midweek and weekend between now and the end of the season and I can't see a scenario where this game is played after the final day.

I did mean fans in general, not just at the protest. Looking at the protesters I'd argue a large number of them look a bit dodgy. These things tend to drag out the more 'questionable' fans...

I don't see a problem with playing it tomorrow myself. If we throw away a 6-2 lead on Thursday because of it then so be it.
