Greenlizard0 Premier League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [16th - 18th September 2023]

Did Ramsdale take a knock for England? I approve of Vieira over Havertz but would rather ESR played.
Not that I'm aware of, most likely dropped today to play in the midweek Champions League game.

ESR is so low down in Arteta's pecking order I doubt we'll see much of him outside of smaller cup games and cameo appearances. :(

Ramsdale is the most overrated keeper since Pickford. Raya is much better. Its a shame Arsenal have made this call.

He's 100% making an error today though

Binning ETH would be the most stupid thing ever. Arteta first 3 seasons were 5th and two 8th. We have had quite a tough start of the season but our next few fixtures are all against winnable teams.

Also remember we are missing Shaw, Varane, Mount and Antony who were all in pre season. We have had a rotating back 4 is pretty much all of our games so far which is good for no one. Look at the pool 19/20 as a primer example and is no wonder we have leaked so many.

Then add to that Amrabat not being available and the obvious cloud with Sancho.

Add the whole mess with the sale and the Glazer's and from top to bottom it is just a mess.

ETH and his staff are the only glimmer. You can already see our playing out from the back, possession and passing accuracy has gone up quite a bit since last season but adding everything together and it is no wonder things are a bit sketchy.

Manchester United is what it is and the media will turn up the heat in an instant.

Come on fella, Varane is now completely injury prone. Mount and Antony are garbage. Leaving Shaw as the hero. That’s a sorry state if he’s who you’re pinning your hopes on.

Are the Manu fans saying the same thing, one a few posts above also trolling? Perhaps you can explain his substitutions?

The players you use an excuse for being out and injured, 3/4 of them are absolute pony anyway and should be nowhere near a Man United side. The Glaziers is an easy excuse. They have backed every manager with what they wanted to a degree that they should be able to keep up with anyone else in the league. They pay the transfer fees in excess of what has been warranted and paid top top wages. Regardless of the sale, how is that unsettling to the team. City have far bigger issues going on in the back ground and no one seems to care about going there for similar or less money.

Yes the Glaziers are to blame for the people they left in charge to recruit managers but it's not like the people they picked the fans were against or much better options were available.

I don’t think they have. They’ve not been able to back the managers properly, look at all the loan signings they’ve made of the years. It’s clear as day they need recruitment but they arse around for so long then end up over paying as they’re desperate.

Last few managers have been shocked by the training facilities and asked for upgrades etc to bring them up to standards of other teams - not even the big boys. Leicester for example have far superior facilities to Man Utd who are still working out of porta cabins!

So yeh, the Glazers are to blame. I’d say 95% of the blame has to be with them ETH has a monumental job on his hands. As LvG said years ago, Utd won’t do anything unless they start to prioritise the football, not selling toilet roll holders in china.
