Greenlizard0 Premier League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [23rd - 24th September 2023]

I'm going to whisper it slightly, and to be clear I love the guy and he's got so much ability, but are we better without Trent? There's such a sideshow that's built up around him now that it's nice to see a match without all that.

whats worse 60 million on Havertz or 60 million on Richarlison?

Both abysmal

What’s happened to Bissouma? Looks unreal so far this season, last season he looked like he’d completely forgotten how to play football

Really good win against a very good West Ham side. I know some people love to laugh at Moyes, no more than me, but he's built a really capable side at West Ham.

A shaky opening 5-10 minutes (which is to be expected for us these days) but then I thought we played really well for pretty much the rest of the game. At 1-0 it looked like we were go on and score a 2nd before a really well worked goal from West Ham but like other games this season, we were really good in the 2nd half.
whats happened about that betting scandal and him? seems to have gone really quiet
These things take ages. He's still not even been charged yet and we saw how long it took the FA to deal with Toney after he was charged.

Thank god for this issue though because he's been outstanding this season and he'd have been a revelation at City.

That's a great win for Villa, very surprising Chelsea are this bad.

There are easier ways to get banned.

No, we're not and the sideshow is mostly hysteria anyway. Had the handful of headed chances West Ham had in our RB/RCB position happened with Trent on the pitch then certain people would have been looking for reasons to blame him rather than, as they did today, just accepting that sometimes good teams can create chances. What he offers the side far outweighs any short comings in his game.

Could've lost the first half 3-1 but we dominated the second half today.

Alisson with a great save in the first 5 minutes to keep it at 0-0, Matip bullied Antonio all game which I didn't expect, Jones had a great game, Mac Allister was much improved in the second half and the front three were all on fire.

Defensive balance is still an absolute mess and having Robertson or Gomez bomb down the wing, or Trent cut inside and play in midfield, is going to catch up with us eventually but it's clear Klopp doesn't give two ***** about the defensive side of the game any more :o

I've agreed with you in seasons gone by, his creativity (and Robbo from left back) has been absolutely integral to what we've done. But the team has changed direction a fair bit - we now basically play three creative midfielders plus a front three, and I think there's an argument for greater solidity from the full backs.

(Please don't ban me! :()
