Imagine blowing 600 million. 50 points on the table at the mid point of the season. Bottling it then realising at the beginning of the next season that was a once in a lifetime opportunity.
Imagine being a Man Utd fan at the moment, where all you have to enjoy is schadenfreude at other teams' failings

Imagine blowing 1.5 billion over a ten year period and have the fanbase whinge that you don't spend money and still being a million miles off of winning the league.

I've agreed with you in seasons gone by, his creativity (and Robbo from left back) has been absolutely integral to what we've done. But the team has changed direction a fair bit - we now basically play three creative midfielders plus a front three, and I think there's an argument for greater solidity from the full backs.

(Please don't ban me! :()
If you look over the start of this season and the whole of last season, the most stable we've been defensively was the last couple of months of last season when we switched to this hybrid formation with Trent moving into midfield and the reason for the stability was because it allowed us to dominate the ball.

We've not done that as well (or as consistently at least) at the start of this season but when you're integrating a complete new midfield into the side and you're constantly chopping and changing your back line due to injuries (and suspension), it's to be expected. You only have to look at the first half of the Wolves game to see that it's not linked to having more offensive fullbacks in the side.

Now I will say, I do think if and when Trent is moving into midfield then Robertson has to be more disciplined but it's just going to take a bit of time for players to adapt to the system but also as we saw in the 2nd half vs Newcastle and vs Villa, we're going to tweak the system too. The best we played this season (over 90 minutes anyway) was vs Villa and we played the system slightly differently with Trent moving into CB rather than midfield and maybe that's the way we go more moving forward as it allows Robertson to still get forward without it leaving us with a back 2.

Glad we managed to sort ourselves out in the second half, awful first half performance against Bournemouth.

Would have been a shocking week if we lost to Bournemouth as well as AEK at home.

Just had a look at Chelsea's fixture list, if Poch doesn't pick up 6 points from Burnley and Fulham he'll be gone by the start of December at the latest.

Arsenal, Brentford, Spurs, City, Newcastle, Brighton and United is a wicked run of games for a team well off form.
