You mean the guy who took Arsenal from a joke to comfortably in the top 4 and challenging for the title last season? United fans should be crying out for an Arteta

Ole did back to back top 4 finishes. He was also top of the league at Christmas too. Arteta is no different. You will not get any further with him. He has found his ceiling. Arsenal have been blessed by some really good businesses in the transfer window for the most part and having a player of Saka's quality.

Accepting that is what will see Arsenal get to the next stage or inevitably go back to where they were before.

He is not on Klopps level which he needs to be to compete with 115 charges City. I would even argue that Unai Emery is a better manager than him.

Outside of United and Chelsea who are both absolutely terribly run. Arsenal have been the biggest spenders over the last 3 seasons. I think it is time Arteta started delivering no?

He won the FA Cup, was genuine title contenders for the vast majority of last season, has been in title contention all of this season, comfortably topped their champions league group, and is doing all of that against a rather obviously cheating Man City. I'm not sure what more you expect from Arsenal or Arteta?

And to say it as if it's 'comical' for Arteta to stay as Arsenal manager is utterly bizarre.

I guess that reflects the extent your football 'knowledge'.

I guess we will find out at the end of the season with where Arsenal finish in the table.

His league history is 8th 8th 5th 2nd and now sitting 3rd. Arsenal have been on the slope since last March really.

Out of the three teams I have watched Arsenal are clearly behind City and Liverpool. In fact Liverpool have impressed me the most considering last season. Although you got a glimpse of what they were about at the tail of last season.

My point is Arsenal should be in the ascendency especially with the buys in the summer.

Anything the ref didn't give for the Arsenal fans to have a whine about today?

Importantly we've been provided with the below for future

Mainoo the latest to be publicly called out by ETH when United dont win. He doesnt learn does he. Just say the lad had a niggle

I just can't warm to ETH. He's very robotic and weird. It would not surprise me in the slightest if the players don't really like or respect him.

As for his coaching ability... well, not much good to say there either.

I just dont think the comments were necessary. Just do a Lavia and say he felt something and a change was needed.

I dont see how he has a future at United tbh.

Where did he call Mainoo out
He didn’t call Mainoo out. That’s just media nonsense.
What he actually said below

“He played the third game in a row, in this week, that’s tough where he’s coming from,”
Erik said about 18-year-old Kobbie.

“I thought the energy was a little bit lower than in the other two games this week, therefore we brought some new energy in.”

How very dare he. :p

I’ve no real love for eth as he’s prone to a bit of weirdness but some folk just like to jump on the bandwagon and talk crap.
Nonsense. He knows what he's doing and has put the blame of that first half on an 18 year old. He could have just said he had a niggle or that HE made a mistake but nope.

ETH blames everyone but himself time and time again.

Just had a Google as I was pretty sure other managers have mentioned players being fatigued being the reason for making a substitution and what do you know…..

‘Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has said he substituted Mohamed Salah in the loss to Chelsea as he felt the Egyptian “suffered a bit” with fatigue’

Again, I’m not trying to defend the man here but jumping on him saying that an 18year old lad was a bit low on energy is a bit silly imo.

/Looks at fixtures today

****

I was hoping we would limp into the transfer window without causing too much damage. Even stated it on here.

Nope. We threw our balls into the blender and went for maximum carnage!! January will be rough ride.
