Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [10th - 13th March 2012]

SAF telling Rooney to get 40 goals this season (ie 14 more)

Is this inspriational or more pressure when he doesnt need it?

Considering the state of hte Europa league /FA cup campaigns - Im not entirely sure this helps (its not like Rooney would not try to score as many as he humanly could either way) - 14 goals in whats likely to be less than 11 games (ie I dont think Rooney will play every one, ie the "double header" of QPR at home and Wigan away within 3 days - I would guess he would be a sub in one/and or subbed in the other at the very least)

I think you're reading way too much into it.

Oh behave Fergie has these wagers with players all the time, it's not more pressure at all it's a bit of banter and that's all.

EDIT: Or what One More Solo said.

I think, but I can't quite remember, that this came from a column that Neville did. People will say he's biased but I think he's shown since being a pundit that he's actually very good & fair.

Just another view on it all anyway:

EDIT: Yeah, it was from a Daily Mail article he wrote.

The only problem is that it is massively effected by form. For example, the way we(Norwich) have played these last few games, I wouldn't expect Man City to have much trouble putting 3 or 4 past us...

Plus Wigan are in the relegation scrap therefore there should be an extra yellow on Man United's fixture list...

But apart from that, it gives a very clear example of how Man City have a much harder run in than United do. That combined with United's vast experience of title races makes them the favourites for the title IMHO...

Match of the Day 2 is much better then Match of the Day.

Less time wasted on rubbish punditry and arm chair coaching, something about a few over paid pundits giving a lecture on defending that I don't enjoy...

Sounds games tend to be a better laugh too :D
