Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [10th - 14th Feb 2012]

Evra showed his true image at the end of the game so he really is a prat.
.

celebrating with his own fans that they won a huge match makes him a prat?

He did absolutely nothing wrong at all

laughs - can LFC put that up without Saurez actually saying it .....wonder if that was said through clenched teeth etc or normally

Will Villa actually turn up later........probably not lol

i imagine john henry has stepped in and told both dalglish and saurez to just end this **** before liverpools reputation gets even more tarnished.

He blatantly did it in front of our players and mainly Suarez, makes him a bit of a prat but I'd happily watch our players do it so can't complain.

Hopefully it will help put it to bed in the media, I doubt it though. Still the uproar over a handshake is a bit baffling.

The guy was banned for 8 games after being found guilty of racism towards Evra and then the first time they meet on the pitch after the ban, Suarez doesn't shake Evras hand. You can't see why that is stupid?

Love how any one can defend Evra celebration when Fergie and since Rio has said himself was OTT But yeah usual tinted glasses on and people assume its right.

Suarez himself said what he did was wrong said sorry but as others have said the issue needs to end and quickly it is damaging reputation of our club.

I do hope our owners go in and tell KD and Suarez to sort it out tbh both have handled this very badly at times, Fergie i hope has also had a word with Evra. Now we just need the media to sod off

Suarez nor LFC has ever taken the stance he was guilty and in fact Evra lied in parts, you can't see this, no?

Oh god, Suarez/Dalglish seem to admit the handshake was Suarez's fault so we'll focus on something else.

Have you seen categorical proof that Evra, from celebrating at right back, through to going towards the tunnel celebrating only celebrated by Suarez, and wasn't doing it the whole way, and the camera simply didn't show all if it at the time?

Anyway, who cares, he was celebrating, this happens in the majority of games, two teams one happy, one not go into the tunnel with half celebrating and half in a bad mood. Explain this, how could Evra have celebrated on the pitch WITHOUT it being blatantly in front of your players..... they were on the field, he was on the field. Never done before Evra, overjoyed by the win should have been forced to jump up and down in the Utd goal until every Liverpool player had left the pitch?

Also yet again you deflect, every post its "I don't get why the handshake is a big deal" and everyone every time says, its NOT the handshake, its EVERYTHING and the handshake is just one more thing, that now Suarez has officially said was wrong.

You want the discussion to be a handshake or lack of one isn't really that bad, its not, no one else gives a damn about that its EVERYTHING Suarez has done.

if you want it to be only about the handshake, fine, it wasn't the refusal to shake a hand, it was the refusal to shake the hand of someone he was found guilty of using racial slurs against..... its not the actual handshake part anyway, its who and WHY he didn't shake hands.

He celebrated like he had won 5 European cups, again I said I can't complain about it though so don't know why your throwing the usual wall of text at me.

So it really isn't that bad the handshake but people saying it just proves how much of a **** and scum he really is? Which is it, a big deal or not a big deal?

over the top does not equal wrong, so where are the tinted glasses. Guess what, emotional people are an emotional time react emotionally. Evra had more reason to feel overjoyed at the win than anyone else on the pitch.

Yes, they have, firstly they didn't appeal because the report clear as day showed why he was found guilty. He admitted part of what he did, I notice you finally said lied IN PARTS. The only recent quotes I've seen from Suarez say he's upset that the rule of "stays on the pitch" was broken, not that Evra lied.

In fact, didn't Suarez change his story about things he said, then later admitted he said, and when and how he said them while Evra wasn't proven to have lied at all, and that was part of the reason he was found guilty.

DM You seem to have got his celebration thing wrong imo no one is saying he cant celebrate its the manner in which he did it and how he did run right to Suarez.

And to your point " how could Evra have celebrated on the pitch WITHOUT it being blatantly in front of your players." He can not run and jump exactly were Suarez is for a start, Yes he went around or looked to of gone around the whole stadium but he wanted to act like a tough guy and go stir it with Suarez, Evra could have done what he did got to that area of the pitch and walk down the tunnel with his team mates have a smile on his face with his team mates as they won but no he chose to be a tool about it.

People saying he celebrates like that all time are wrong UTD have beaten us plenty of times he doesnt and hasnt run around like that before it was to stir trouble simple as that

Both were out of order, not hard to see. Club has also issued statement basically saying his behaviour has let everyone at the club down and it was the right thing to apologize.

It's not a big deal, show where I said otherwise, show where every single time you've mentioned it everyone has said specifically its not the handshake alone its EVERYTHING he's done.

He is scum, ALL his actions have shown this, the handshake was just ANOTHER scummy thing he did, which he has now admitted was wrong and stupid. What you seem to miss is, had Suarez shaken his hand and apologised for his actions people MIGHT have thought he did the right thing and thought better of him. IE he had a chance to change peoples minds about him, and he failed to take that opportunity thereby confirming what everyone already thought about him.

IE, If Bieber publically apologises for the crap music and offers to donate all his illgotten gains to charity and disappear forever I might think differently of him. if he releases some other POS song I'll simply continue to believe he's a **** of the highest order.

Did it also ever occur to you that, having felt like he was racially abused, winning the game against Suarez meant more to him than winning a Euro cup. That is ignoring the fact that, you're clearly exaggerating and he was jumping up and down happy. He didn't do 5 laps of honour, he didn't break down in tears, he went towards the tunnel and celebrated on the way.

Got a link?

If so good on Liverpool for stepping up and trying to deal with the issue correctly at last.
