Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [11 - 14th May 2013]

Like someone mentioned it will be interesting next season with Man U, City and Chelsea all having managers. Let's hope it's a lot more competitive than this season.

It's hard to tell how hard a player is trying, I'd certainly say Rooney appears to have been trying a lot harder than Danny "runs the ball forward and loses it" Welbeck (except the Madrid game of course when he actually tried)

Don't bring money into it, it's irrelevant. Unless we start saying players can only celebrate at a proportional level to their transfer fee/wage.

Rooney is just upset he's no longer the top dog at United now RvP is there :p

Keep crying Rooney.

Never really liked Fergie but I respect what he's done.

I didn't say anything about him celebrating or not. But yes their wage /fee should be some reflection of their effort in every game they play.

No it shouldn't. Every player should make the same effort regardless of whether they're an 18 year old trying to break into the first team or a 31 year old trying to win his 10th title. In the real world that's not possible, every player has off days and you could point the finger at every single player in the squad and say there are days when he maybe hasn't appeared to put his all into a match.

If Rooney wants to leave then let him go, it doesn't erase the fact he's been a great player for us and everyone suddenly treating him like **** is disgusting.

Well imo he blatantly has not been performing to his usual consistent levels for the last few months

However, if you don't agree then fair enough

My whole point about Rooney was more to do with the fact that has done exactly the same as Terry did last year at the Champs League trophy presentation, yet he was ridiculed for it.

I don't know about that incident, I don't really pay attention to other teams. Are you referring to him wearing his kit? Everyone was, even players like Smalling that have barely played.

I imagine it was done to avoid all the BS if he hadn't have come out.

All the other players were in their kits as well, where as with Terry he was in the middle with shin pads on like he'd just won it himself!

What people like Rooney need to realise is is they are just a commodity to their agent and they don't have their best interests at heart. The player moves, the agent gets a cut.

All the other players were kitted out too at the CL final, it was a UEFA directive.
He didn't have shin pads on either, that's just a myth that the uneducated believe :p

Where has this Spangles fellow appeared from?!

Heaven.

It is just my opinion that I am stating. It was like when there was a lot of rumors of Gerrard leaving Anfield for Chelsea a while back. I loved Stevie, but when this all came about I felt terrible. Then he decided to stay. That is loyalty. He may not have a PL winning medal, but he has a lot of respect.

Earning around 100k a week is more than enough for anyone, for someone on closer to the 200k a week area, and then complaining that they may not be on enough money?

I understand you go where the money is, but if you are being paid well already there is no need. They say that players have to think about themselves, and that they have a short career. Someone earning 200k a week, will earn what we will that time in more than less of a year, easily. They can sustain their high life for it.

For someone thinking that a player is entitled to try and celebrate and be part of the team spirit when in fact he is stabbing the people he is getting his photo taken with, in the back, then that is another thing.

Then again I suppose that is the problem with some Utd fans, just plain stupid. Every club has that, and it seems that one for them has just been exposed.

Haha, we always get a few unknowns coming on here winding people up towards the end of the season.

Stabbing people in the back, you are funny :D

Look, it is as simple as this, and all you have to remember, this is my opinion, it is not fact (thought it should be!)

If I had gone and got a new job, and was leaving my current employer, and then we won an award for something, I would stay at the back of the crowd, not trying to mix into the front. I would let everyone enjoy themselves, as would I, but I would make sure that people who liked my company and knew I was leaving, were not seeing me jumping in there grabbing all the credit possible.

Wayne is a good player, heck, he is a great player. But I just feel he could have handled everything a lot better with regards to everything that has gone on today.

As you said, that's you opinion. So stop trying to state it as fact and insulting people who think differently, it just make you come across as a bit of a....well I can't say more because it would be breaking the rules.
