Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [11th - 16th September 2015]

Couldn't have gone better for LVG over the last few days. Dea Gea stays, decent win over major rivals and a great debut goal from his £36 million man.
 
Dire first half, pretty damn good second half. Martial is certainly a prospect, Young... been saying for 3 years, no idea how he doesn't start for Utd. Even when he's not getting actual assists and goals, he has a drive, pace, fitness and movement that few others in the squad have. He closes well and puts the fullback/defence/midfield under pressure. On the ball he finds good passes, beats players, provides good balls and gets goals and assists on top of that.

Utd for the past year look noticeably better with him on the field than not.

If Depay comes good I'd say Young ahead of Mata who just isn't doing enough, if Depay continues to disappoint go with Mata. If Martial continues to impress I honestly think Rooney shouldn't come back to the first team, frankly Rooney will look better using his energy as a impact sub than through 90 minutes.

However, with the weight of expectation, the hype, the press, the price etc surrounding Martial it was a hell of a goal.

Clearly Bentekes was better for pure ability but when you consider the surrounding factors, Martials was the best.

Seeing Chelsea in 16th on that table is the only thing that cheers me up after that match. I think the next match could well be make or break for Rodgers.
 
Yet another gutless display, probably the worst home performance in 50 years vs West Ham followed up by one of the worst Liverpool teams at Man U in many a long year.

Absolutely no change from last season, No leadership off the pitch and no leadership on it. Sad thing is that results like the last 2 are no longer a surprise with this current Liverpool team.
