Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [11th - 16th September 2015]

Bentekes goal was much better but great to see him score on his debut and not a simple finish either. A striker with pace and finishing would be a welcome change as well.

Given the difference in experience, I think this kind of doesn't give enough credit to Martial

MUCH better 2nd half , but horrific 1st half will live long in the memory unfortunately.

Still gave the ball away too much, could have lost that game vs a top team (couldn't resist that) all to easily - De Gea's huge mistake / Blind off the line/ De Gea's fingertip save plus a few moves that didn't come off cut Utd's defence to shreds

Still three points from the old enemy is always a wonderful feeling - and great to see Martial off and running already

What situation? The fact it's at Old Trafford?

Comon don't even try, it bounced off skrtel onto his other leg. If you can't see it's not even close you're a bit dim

That said it's irrelevant, neither goal mattered at all and we suck more than they do by a distance and they're ****e, desperate times

A good home performance translates into a win for a change :D

I am sure people will say Bournemouth were poor but I don't care!

We're a team that makes more defensive errors than any side going and we set up playing for a 0-0 :/ Utd created next to nothing, all the chances they had were put on a plate for them thanks to our own stupidity.

We've not got the players nor the manager to be a team that pinches things on the break and the sooner Rodgers realises that the better or we're ****ed.

Superb goal from Benteke. Skrtel is absolute car crash as a defender

He's got a free ride of late with all the Lovren/Sakho stuff but that was embarrassing defending for your 3rd. Once he got isolated in that position at this stage in the game he just had to go clean the attacker out. To back off given he knew the lad would have the beating of him if he knocked it past him was stupid. To then put up a limp **** challenge like he did was a ****ing disgrace.

Yet another gutless display, probably the worst home performance in 50 years vs West Ham followed up by one of the worst Liverpool teams at Man U in many a long year.

Absolutely no change from last season, No leadership off the pitch and no leadership on it. Sad thing is that results like the last 2 are no longer a surprise with this current Liverpool team.

Am I missing why Milner is captain, other than being disgustingly over rated by so many, he's brand new to the club, isn't it rather odd for him to be captain over say Skrtel or, someone who has been part of the team longer?

Today there was no fight about Liverpool at all, in fact Milner's kick out tackle at Young was about as irate as they seemed, okay maybe Lovren had a bit of a kick at Martial but not much. In a game like this you expect a few near red card tackles but Liverpool lost almost every 50/50, looked slow to loose balls, couldn't find each other with passes to save their lives.

Team lost faith in Rodgers and playing like they know they've lost? Almost any Liverpool team in the past 15 years regardless of previous form would have at least lost leaving some blood on the field today, instead they looked limp and like they weren't motivated for it. Really odd performance from them.

EDIT:- I mean, I didn't even say once "Skrtel should be off for that", not even close. They can be 4-0 up and Skrtel will still almost get a red card with a crazy tackle normally... today, nothing at all?

It was like the Macheda moment all over again

to be fair, I'm not sure anyone was aware of Macheda at all, so not the press blast over the last few weeks let alone the pressure of the actual money involved (Macheda came from the academy , after costing £35k as a 15yo)
