The sad thing is our (Arsenal) defence was quite good today
The only loose link we have is Squilacci, but even then he wasn't
that bad. If he could reclaim some of his past glory he would be a decent back up. Miquel is the Spanish U21 captain or something. Rather good player.
It really wasn't, Newcastle just didn't trouble our defence, thats almost as bad as the people who think Song is great just because in some games his mistakes don't cost us the game, in other games when it does, people will say he had a crap game but people think he's mostly good.
He's mostly uninvolved, and against most top half teams, mistakes cost us points. Our defence wasn't terrible, but it just wasn't really tested. Personally I think, with Ba very uninvolved and seemingly no where near fit, their strike force was one of the weakest of all 20 teams.
With the stupid pundits talking about how dangerous Newcastle were with every corner/free kick, despite the fact that Carroll/Nolan scored more than anyone from such situations, in other words, they really aren't dangerous from set pieces anymore.
If our defence holds up against an actual strike force, be happy, they were neither good, nor bad yesterday though.
Not a Barton fan but fair play to him giving stick to those diving masters at Arsenal, the sooner players start laying into divers the better because the refs wont do jack. Its either a foul or its a dive, simple.
Wow, well done, you're congratulating a complete thug, and criminal, who should be in jail, for taking a stand against one player WHO HAD CLEAR CONTACT TO TRIP HIM, and he took this stand, by diving.
Gervinho had someone take a foot out from underneath him, people fall when running and one leg is taken out. Barton got a very tiny slap in the face, he stayed up for a second, then threw himself to the ground.
One player dived, his name is Barton, and you're on his side, makes you almost as pathetic as him.
