Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [14th - 19th October 2011]

FFS! I brought Dzeko and Nasri into my FF team, and put them as captain and vice-captain and they've both on the ****ing bench

Two internationals with a must win CL group game and United away straight after it.. Did you honestly expect them to start against Villa at home? (Meant in no way as an offence to Villa, just the relative importance of the game).

I've got Aguero, Nani, Silva and Anderson. Lots of points this week... :(

Thought the United V Liverpool game was pretty poor.

Shocked that Downing wasn't booked for his dive, thought the free kick for Liverpools goal was soft as they come too.

Gerrrad played well as did the Liverpool back four, didn't think too much to the other players for Liverpool, Henderson looked lively.

Smalling was poor, Welbeck was terrible, nobody really stood out for United imho, besides Evra (who was up and down well) and Jones looked quite good, lively and up for the game. Shame really, the whole game was more tactical chess then end to end exciting football.

Draw was a fair result, not much between the two, United probably shaded it but Liverpool should be pleased to have Gerrard put in a pretty top performance like that. All imho of course.

Anyway, it's all about the Steel City Battle tomorrow, can't ****ing believe Sky picked Arsenal v Sunderland over it.

while not exactly 1 sided I think tbh we deserved to win it

All Biased aside yeah? :p

Thought a draw was fair, nothing much between the two. United were below par and Liverpool weren't too bad nor brilliant. Bit Dull over all.

Surely that's the 1 thing you can't say about Adam?

His shooting from around the edge of the area has got to be up there with anybody else in the league.

Really? He seems to skew all his shots wide or gets a lucky deflection. He has a lovely left foot but I'm yet to see any decent shots outside the box. It was a different story at Blackpool, but that's Blackpool :p

This is what is wrong with football, if they were men they should only go down if the contact was heavy enough to make them, not just because someone just about touched them (applies to all teams, not just those playing this game).

I disagree with that. If you're touched, go down if it can benefit your team. I'm not condoning flat-out diving, but have nothing against picking up a free kick or penalty if you're touched. It's just good sense.
