Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [14th - 19th October 2011]

City favourites for the league IMO.

I know Norwich have won 3 out of their last 4 but I think that might be slightly over-reacting ;)

Swansea are the type of team we have to beat to stay up and we did, if we keep playing this well then I don't see us going down despite having the worst team in the Prem!

Glad I'm not watching, reading what others are saying else where its the same negative, non attacking, un-inspired football we've been playing for a while now.

I hope Fergie doesn;t do this in all the big games this season, drop all our best players and out out a trashy negative side to try and stop the other team playing. We should be showing we're the best and giving them something to fear instead of letting them in like that.

No other manager in the world would have dropped Nani, Rooney, Anderson and Hernandez for that match.

Inter on their way to another defeat. Really should've spent some money when Benitez predicted they would struggle with ageing players and a small squad last season. Makes Mourinho's efforts that much more impressive though. AC Milan not fairing much better either.

Fergie is the master of squad rotation. Today we took a point away to Liverpool, hat is far from a bad result especially with our recent record at Anfield and keeping in mind we have an important CL game and then City coming up.

Its also good to note that after the City game we will have played Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs and City. Thats a lot of the big games against the top 4 rivals out of the way.

 Chelsea have always had a great team spirit.

Lol not a dig at Chelsea, a dig that every time we play Everton they roll one of their players out to give an interview with some paper the day prior saying they have something money can't buy, team spirit. So everytime team spirit fails I get a good little chuckle.

Have I said something sacrilegious

No you've just said something stupid

City won at home against a poor Villa side, credit to them for doing it without Aguero, Silva and Nasri

United got a draw at Liverpool without Rooney, Nani and Hernandez

If you really think those two fixtures and results are comparable and a barometer of who's favourites to win the league then your insane

At this point in the season for what it's worth I don't think anyone can be classed as favourites.

Ah, ok. Thought you were badmouthing chelsea! :p

I like Romeu, seems to get stuck in and does it properly.

Yeah, I'd like to see him given some more game time. He's very tidy and moves the ball on quickly.

Draw was a fair result, not much between the two, United probably shaded it but Liverpool should be pleased to have Gerrard put in a pretty top performance like that. All imho of course.

You realise it was Liverpool playing in red?

First half was fairly even with the only real chance falling to Suarez but 2nd half I thought we were much the better side. As well as our goal we created 2 or 3 good goalscoring opportunities and probably should have had a penalty. In contrast I can't think of another decent chance Utd had other than their goal.

No no you have it wrong, the squad was perfect and their demise was purely Rafa's fault.
