Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [14th - 19th October 2011]

Best game I've watched in a long time that, Newcastle didn't deserve to lose so I'm glad they got a draw, Spurs were hanging on at the end.

Nice game and another great point. Would have took your hand off pre kick off for a point and to earn it playing well and almost winning is even better. Still top 4 :D

Jermaine Defoe has been handed a golden opportunity to book his place in the England squad for the Euros in light of Rooneys red card.

On his game he is the most natural finisher and best all round striker to step into the role, albeit on the back of a horrendous run of form. Its up to him to take the chance. Today was a good start.

the commentator picked up on it, defoe is one tough little guy! first half wasn't all that tbf but there were periods in the second half that were edge of your seat time. a draw was probably fair, bale never got into the game and newcastle are very good at their sneaky little ankle digs but they do have some good players, their left winger had walker in all kinds of trouble at times.

Bale is a "good" player but he is hugely over-hyped. Its not his fault but he isnt the superstar the media would like to portray him as.

TBH he is either a full back who is a shocking defender but good at getting forward or a winger who needs to work more on his game. He is in danger of falling into the Glen Johnson category if hes not careful.

Great game :)

Nice play from both sides and great to see 2 sides going for it rather than just trying to hang on for a point. If The free kick had went to anyone other than Colo it was 3 points to us, but a point is certainly fair!

Wigan (H) Stoke (A) Everton (H) I would be aiming for 4-5 points to keep us up and around the top 4.

After that we get spanked 3 games in a row by ManU, ManC and Chelski. But if we can stay top 4 before that run it would be amazing, showed against Spurs and Arsenal we can mix it with the teams playing for 4th. Biggest test for us is how recover from 3 spankings on the trot and how team spirit holds up.

Haway the lads!!! :D

Urgh Chesney calling RVP the best striker in the league :o

One of the best? Undoubtably
The best? No chance

Wigan yeah. Everton and Stoke are no ones mugs.

Or are you trying to reverse psychology hoodoo curse us?!??? :D

Well i said Stoke will beat you :p

Everton are hardly performing this season, however I guess they could surprise you with a 90th min Cahill header.

He's easily the best striker in the league and when he gets a decent run of not being injured arguably the best or one of the best in the world.

My reading skills fail, thought you said we would beat them :p

Wigan win and a point, maybe 3 against Everton would be expectation. Anything against Stoke is a bonus :) I'm just worried when Cabaye and Tiote are injured/suspended. Don't have the best cover. To be fair I would hope they are injured/suspended against the top teams who will beat us anyway. Obly result I can see from them us a point against Chelski, though that's a remote hope. The ManC teams will = much butthurt for us :D
