because it wasnt aimed at the keeper

So if someone stands infront of the keeper, another player passes it to this guy and he steps out of the way the keeper can pick it up? It's supposed to be if it's not an intentional pass(not specifically to the keeper), a miskicked clearance or whatever. But he clearly passed it towards the defender, it was a poor pass, the keeper comes and picks it up, it was a back pass.

Southampton don't deserve to lose this, by far the better team in the 2nd half.

Liverpool look suspect at the back and don't really look like creating chances.

no it wasnt

Unlucky Southampton, clearly deserved at the very least a point, and arguably did enough to take all 3.

Liverpool poor at the back, lazy, slow, very unlike them going forward.

It wasn't mate, he didn't mean to pass it to the keeper, therefore not a backpass.

Much better effort from us than i was expecting bar a few lapses we could have come away with a point or more. Looking forward to our performances once we've gelled.

Awful performance, underserved win but the 3 points is all that matters.

We were comfortable in the first half but as soon as we scored Koeman changed their tactics and their defence dropped back 10 yards which prevented us from running in behind them. Their midfield then took over and dominated the game until they nearly scored the second and Rodgers finally made some changes to counter their attacks and regain some control.

Thought Manquillo had a excellent debut, Lovren played very well as did Henderson and Mignolet but Sterling was the standout for us again.

Johnson wasn't too bad, but Moreno can't come in soon enough, and Lucas looked like he was treading water at the start of the second half and sadly needs to be put out to pasture. Rodgers also had a shocker and should've reacted much quicker to the Southampton pressure. Gerrard sucked again but can get away with it because he's the captain.
