Pretty poor from us and a poor game over all, bit like last year vs Stoke to start and got the deserved win
Lucas sucks horribly now, him and Glen murdering every attack.
Sturridge was shocking for the majority of the game but was there when it counted

I've noticed that, it actually works against him at times when he doesn't need to do it.
Thank **** for that.
Southampton looked sharper than us all over the pitch and stopped us from ever getting going all game. I think we'll see clubs that went on big preseason tours struggle in the opening weeks; Southampton definitely looked fitter than us anyway.
The system we started with didn't work but then again we didn't look any better when we changed to a 4-3-3 or later to a diamond.
We looked a bit short or attacking options in the 2nd half but hopefully with Lallana and Markovic to come back and another striker joining that'll be resolved. I thought we saw the use of Lambert today though; prior to him coming on we were struggling to build any sort of attack but straight away after coming on we had an out all and were able to build attacks higher up the pitch that eventually led to our winner.

Depends whether mad Pardew has found the magic formula at long last.
Surprised he hasn't been sacked yet.
I'm in Montenegro at the moment, they love him here. Rightly so, he's a great player. If he plays, he'll have a fantastic season, he's got it all.
