Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [17th - 19th September 2011]

Man Utd looked iffy defensively, at times in complete disarray. If Torres was still a decent finisher he would have seriously punished them.

Whatever happened to your tall foreign centre back? He absolutely dominated both those games. Michalik or something? He looked really good in both those matches.

He was pretty rubbish, he went to Carlisle on loan then not sure, might still be there. He was never really first choice, surprising as he was highly regarded at Bolton when we got him.

I think he never played against Man U though? Or he came on? Also, both matches??

What the hell was Chelsea's then? At least we have the 'excuse' that our first choice centre backs were missing what's Chelsea's excuse?

On Cole can any retrospective action be taken as it wasn't the ref that saw the tackle himself it was the linesman

Late substitute wiki seems to say. Strange as the only memory I have of those matches is him playing phenomenally.

Same as O'brien and Bruce playing amazingly against Arsenal last season but in reality both are atrocious defenders. Turn it on for the camera's :D

Our best CB got sent off on Saturday so no doubt it'll be interesting on Tuesday.

Where's Biz? He was around when City were winning, hasn't been seen since they squandered their 2-0 lead :p

The best bit about it is the way he collapses to the floor afterwards, in complete despair. It screams "Oh god, why won't it stop?"

I think Chelsea would be stupid to not offer Anelka a contract. That pass through to Torres for their goal was class. The vision was grand. Personally I want to have him back at North London to finish off his career, he offers something different to anyone else in the side right now.

Would have Barndoor back as well. He seems intent on scoring lots this season. :(

What was Carragher doing for the second goal? Two players were surrounding the Spurs player and he ran forward and tried to get involved leaving aches of space for Defoe to run in to. Third or fourth game in a row a poor decision by him has cost us a goal.

Asamoah Gyan is laughing all the way to a middle eastern bank.

LOL! :D

Isn't he sending some of his ludicrous wage back to the Sunderland charity or something? Good deal for them. Recuperate £5m plus his wages plus whatever they sell him on for plus one years worth of football.
