Cracking game, while City weren't great it was only some really clinical finishing that got Southampton back in the game, if the saints can finish like that all season they'll be fine but alas I suspect today was a one off

Really don't get the hyperboil on Sky over Hazard, I thought he was only marginally better against much worse opposition than he was last weekend. If it wasn't for truly rubbish defending he'd of done nowt in today's game

Hazard's assist for the first goal was good (the pass and the turn), and he won the penalty, but he seemed to fade after that, and then Chelsea parked the bus.

Lambert has been finishing like that for years, was so surprised anyone has suggested he won't be able to do the job this year.

Steven Davis was the surprise haven't seen anything of him during pre season and when he came on he really seemed to bring something we've misses

I had faith! ...I did him to score two today only to find he wasn't starting:(. I really fancied Soton to do something but unfortunately they couldn't quite hold on

Tbh I know nothing about Southampton or Lambert. If you're right though they'll avoid relegation easily. I'm already concerned about our trip to St Mary's week after next :o

There's a rumour that Aguero is out for 6 months, however it's just a rumour at the minute.

That would be gutting for Man City.

Looked pretty much identical to the Lucas injury and I'd be betting on ligament damage.

I said this when Lucas got injured too so it might mean nothing but he didn't look in as much pain as other players when they do their ligaments and he managed to hobble about a bit too.

As long as he misses next weekend, I don't mind though.

Ouch, if it's true then that is a blow. Luckily they seem to have very deep pockets!

The incident didn't look too harsh, but you can never really gauge how much ligament damage has been caused from those images. Unless it's like Owens knee job.

Hope Aguero isn't out for long. Be interesting to see which Manchester partnership prices effective.

Great game today, really enjoyed it soooo glad the leagues back :)

Re. Hazard I thought he played really well. He still needs to adapt some and settle in the team but he certainly showed his class today as opposed to the charity shield game. Makes me nervous about next week @ Chelski, should be a cracker of a game but if I was offered a point I would take it now and sod the game :D

We will beat them. Another wonder Cisse goal :)

It will be tougher, having played in Greece mid week.

But yeh a point will be great.

Rumour is he is taking pretty much reserved and kids to Greece and relying on home leg to get through. I really hope we don't take it too casually and get knocked out, that would be a kick in the teeth after all the hard work to reach it last year.

That's understandable it's mostly pundits that have written him off before he's kicked a ball.

Can't wait for united to come down to us, tv game and should be even more fun than the fa cup game a couple of years ago.

:D I was gutted he didn't start, lambert first goal saints to win or draw was my bet for the weekend. He should get some starts soon enough, the line up today reflected who was 100% fit and who wouldn't be worth risking a whole game just yet.

Things are looking up :)

It's ridiculous to write off a natural goalscorer. There's been nothing said about Lambert and Le Fondres' ability to score goals. Plonk them in the 18 yard box and they'll do the same verses any opposition. I'm sure.

Don't rate le fondre. The luck he relies on may disappear in the prem.

I'd have lambert at Leeds in a shot.
