So because he didn't perform in one game he's no good? I guess Messi should be called rubbish as he couldn't score past a ten man Chelsea team.

I'm being critical of the Arsenal fans wishing injury on him. That is it. Nothing else. I'd expect many of them to be upset and now 'hate' him.

not sure how accurate this is Arsenal bought Anelka, Overmars, Petit, Henry, Vieira, Fàbregas, RVP, Toure, Adebayor and Nasri for £42m. Then sold them for £206m but that's incredible business and probably part of the reason why arsenal continue to keep faith in him

we bought song and rvp for a combined fee of something like 3m and they have/or about to recoup 40m from those two players
I sense we're going to go around in circles here so this is the last I'll say - you acknowledged that Utd fans would lynch him but didn't cricitise them, Arsenal fans however are bitter and so on.

I am reading your posts. You're basically blaming Wenger and the players.
Okay, players don't always perform, but as Tom pointed out, RvP scored in that cup final so he actually did something. He is the player we're talking about.
I also doubt a Carling Cup would have solved Arsenal's problems, anyway.
If they'd wished injury on him, I would have been critical. That's the only instance that I've been critical here, I'm just being dragged into other discussions because of it (see this thread for reference

One year ago, yes one year ago in a different post than the one I quoted, you stated wenger should be sacked if he didn't get top four. I don't think anybody is taking issue or calling you up on that.
However, you then followed that up with another post this year stating CATEGORICALLY that the NEEDS to be sacked. No caveat about finishing top four.
Yeah was weird, I had some money on Cardiff to win, flicked it on earlier and thought Cardiff were attacking (in Blue) then realised and suddenly changed from wanting a goal to wanting them to fluff it up lol

Was pretty much nailed on I think, he worked with them on the Euros and judging by midweek Lee Dixon has jumped ship to ITV.
I think now he is out of a job the whole feud with the BBC went out the window especially as all the pundits were backing him for the England job.

Glad Adams and Carroll appear to be surplus to requirements but of all the flops last season Downing contributed by far the least yet Rodgers seems to be a fan. Hope it's only because he hasn't found a suitable replacement yet!
Downing performed the worst of the 3 however, he's the only one of the 3 that naturally fits into Rodgers system. And surely he can't perform as bad as last season.
edit: On Downing - I've heard a fair few journos mention that whenever they talk to players, managers, coaches that have worked with Downing, they all rave about him and talk up how good a player he is in training. Hopefully (and I don't know how), Rodgers can find a way for him to replicate his performances on the training pitch in matches.
