Carroll and Downing average? Since when have they been that good?tbf Pigeon knows average when he sees it; Henderson, Downing, Carroll etc
Joking aside, Henderson was being chased by a number of high profile clubs before we got him, was highly rated by Fifa and has been improving every game. Once he starts getting amongst the goals his performances will start to get noticed.
Can't wait for Spurs vs Chelsea now. Great fight for places going on at the top.

It's what is known as the Berba Technique.
Because he has realised what we knew all along, he's absolute pony. Better to have him on the bench than highlight you have wasted 35million along with your other novelty purchases with the new owners money.

If it wasn't for some world class saves he would have a few headed goals to his name this season but Downing can't cross a ball to save his life and when he does Carroll's never in the box because he's slow and decrepit. I'm sure Dalglish was banking on them to provide us with a lot of goals and it simply hasn't worked.
We can either continue to play him, Downing and buy another winger in January and hope it works or we write him off and look to offload him. At the moment he appears to be a complete write off.

you reckon that's why? it's one heck of an expensive mistake! shipped out for half price in the summer?
I thought Downing (prior to coming to pool) had one of the best '% successful crosses' stats in the league.

I can believe that given how good he looked for England recently but for us he looks confused every time he gets the ball and usually ends up making the wrong choice.
