How lethal is Aguero in the grand scheme of things? I see him miss a lot of great chances yet his goalscoring record is fantastic. I mean, is this a case of Ronaldo at RM. Even an average striker would score a lot of goals at RM with the number of chances they create so someone like Ronaldo bangs them in for fun.

As above, if a player dives and the ref isn't conned by it then no action gets taken. If you dive and you win a pen or your play acting results in a red card then you could face punishment retrospectively.
