Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [18th - 21st January 2014]

Samuel and JT interview after...hahahahaha! He just spoke in French. The guy asks Terry to translate and he said "yes I am very happy and JT is my best mate". :D

I think they'll reserve the right to use that rule until there's media outrage. If nothing's said, nothing will be done.

That's always been the case.

The same weekend that Balotelli kicked Parker in the head, Crouch tried to gouge somebody's eye out and because it happened in a nothing match he wasn't punished. Everybody went hysterical over the Balotelli kick and he did get banned.

I thought they were going to cop off for a minute then :D

lol, it's quite, funny, nice, to see Eto'o being shy over his English. Makes him seem more normal, but also shows why so many guys have interpreters, even Eto'o who routinely plays football in front of 50k + people for 15 years, gets shy in front of a camera.

Was a funny interview though.

Was just thinking what the reaction would be had Brown won the penalty against Villa and Suarez snapped Ramirez and escaped punishment

What I'm going on about is that you're the first to start busting out the yellow stars and getting all uppety if anyone dare moan about Suarez/Benitez.

Calling someone a nasty little **** when you have an even nastier little **** that dives and bites is a bit hypocritical :)

Except I've called Suarez a massive **** in the past? (I'm not sure what Rafa has to do with it rofl.)

Wouldn't I have to condone Suarez's biting/bad tackles at Ajax for it to be hypocritical and not think he is a ****? Rafael is one and constantly whips out awful tackles. (Also not sure if biting + diving (which has clearly stopped) is worse than dishing out career enders.)

Bahh weekend threads are just getting duller and duller. Not even the the utd fans are bickering anymore. Cheats come back.

Aside from a few very predictable attempts at trolling, there's not much to discuss. We'll have to see how things go over the next 6 months to get a better picture of what's happening, how much we spend, etc. Be nice if it was this month. It's easy for people (like Nick) to lay all the blame at Moyes door but I think that's harsh. I'm sure he could be doing better, but he needs some serious financial backing too.

We haven't disgraced ourselves today, most teams would look poor missing their best 2 players by a considerable margin - we shouldn't be one of those teams but at the moment we are. Was a bit ridiculous at the end though, Vidic lost his cool and took out Hazard for no reason and then Rafael did his usual angry two footed tackle, idiot. I've seen him do that many times.

I thought Chelsea were pretty ordinary today and had they not got that somewhat fortunate opening goal, we might have at least got a point, but there's no way you can argue with the final score really.

Now for the Moyes interview...

Eto'o interview :D

Come on Purdy you know what I'm on about there was no need for you to call him a nasty little **** is what I'm saying, lots of people mentioned it but you had to go a step too far.

The Rafa comment, I'm pretty sure you were getting into a rage everytime the Chelsea fans ****ged him off last season.

It was nasty and rash but it was quite provocative for you to come out with it like that. I can't even be arsed to argue though dude :)

Well I thought he was that before the tackle despite thinking he is a great right back, no one thinks its a step too far describing certain other players as that.

EDIT: Except Rafa has never done anything bad, he is a manager who did fantastic for Chelsea despite their inbred fans insulting him every week whilst he did a great job

I'll remind you of that next time I point out during a Liverpool match what a diving little **** he is :)

I'm sure he [Moyes] could be doing better, but he needs some serious financial backing too.

Rumour has it that Man Utd have one of the biggest transfer budgets of any club. They basically haven't been spending any money on big players, apart from the big hair.

Moyes' big problem is that during the Summer (and probably January) transfer window(s), he was inept. Whichever player he went for, the deal fell through. And the one player he got (big hair), turned out to be a lemon. This highlighted the problem that Moyes has a lot to learn, when it comes to handling transfer targets. This is exactly where a big name manager should do much better. Moyes is not a big team manager. He can learn, though. But I dont feel that he should be learning at Man Utd.

The question is, would Moyes have got the job with Arsenal, Man City or Chelsea, if they were looking for a manager?
