I didn't want him in the first place...I've always felt that he was chosen because he was Fergie's mate rather than on his footballing heritage.
The removal of an established back room staff, replaced by an inexperienced playing/coaching role for Giggs and a couple of new coaches in Neville etc was a major mistake...his decision to go on holiday and leave recruitment to a new Chief Exec was another mistake, both Man City and Chelsea had new managers who both started immediately, getting to know their squads, strengthening and building relationships...Moyes was sunning himself on the beach. Moyes cannot seem to attract top class players, he has neither the personality or prestige, especially now when United are looking like missing out on Europe next season.
Moyes also talks too much about targets and budgets, this is unprofessional in my opinion. There is serious questions about his training regime, forgoing the old individually assessed regimes for a more group orientated system with the emphasis on strength and defensive tactics has proven especially hard on the likes of Van Persie and Nani etc, our creative players..although the harder regime has helped Rooney enormously.
Morale is down, selection doesn't help. Some players have complained that they have no time to build themselves up as unlike Fergie, Moyes doesn't release team sheets until match day.
I watch United each week, and I feel like I am watching Everton.
Moyes needed a DoF and he should not have released the back room staff until he had settled in and both he and Ed Woodward had found their feet. We need major strengthening in midfield and defence, we are talking major players, not squad players. Fellaini was a bad signing, cost too much, was a knee jerk reaction and is out of his depth...not unlike Moyes' appointment in my opinion. I do not think Fergie was intending to resign, and whatever the reason (illness?) everything happened too fast and too deeply.
Moyes is out of his depth, and nothing I have heard or seen so far has changed this.
