Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [19 - 21st October 2012]

It doesn't need to be a tackle for the ref to see it as a red, could have been sent off mainly for intent if that's the way the ref has seen it ie: reacting to the fact he was being held back. Like I said, you see it when a striker is trying to block a clearance and ends up catching the player in the follow through.

I'm not agreeing with it, in my eyes it was harsh.

I do agree about Le Tiss though, he's a shocking commentator and pundit. What's he talking about there saying Fletcher was lucky not to have a bad injury? Come on Matt.

The difference is, when a defender is trying to clear it, well as I said, there is follow through, when you expect someone to lump it 50 yards you should expect follow through and not put your foot right where the follow through will be. Here there wasn't any expectation for Fletcher to kick through the ball and he didn't.

Yet another pretty clear foul the ref is looking directly at and missed, doesn't appear to be making a lot of effort to even it up yet.

So whats Tiote even doing with his foot in that position in the first place if he's not anticipating the ball being there?

He's not going to even it up, in his, and a lot of people's eyes the decision was correct.

Making a salad?

Stupid question requires a stupid response, no?

No, legitimate question requires legitimate response.

You said it wasnt a tackle, and he wasn't expecting fletcher to kick through the ball, so he must have gone to do him?

Suppose that was the correct decision on Ben arfa as well eh? :p

No, just the ref staying true to form and getting entirely nothing correct in this game.

Yup, another one, ref should go non league next week he's been so completely terrible.

Quite frankly Cabaye should just walk up to Sunderlands keeper, punch him in the face, throw himself to the floor then score the penalty he'll no doubt be given.

Thought Atkinson must have been on the take for Sunderland but he's now just getting every decision wrong for both teams...

Both managers will want a 10k refund then :p

When ref's get greedy and start taking a bribe from both sides, haha.

Rose dives, no contact, nothing, gives another freekick Sunderlands way while going the other way Ba was just bashed into from the front and from behind and gets nothing. This is becoming a monumental joke, one of the worst ref performances I've seen for ages.

lol, not a foul :p

Maybe a little, don't Newcastle deserve about 30 of them to get even. Rubbish freekick by Cabaye, would have done better passing it around in midfield and having some posession.

Ref overall ruining the game, considering how pretty cack Sunderland have been both, for the past 6 months and most of today against 10 men, I think Newcastle would have won this with ease had they not lost a man and had to make changes.

Hope Atkinson dies.
Hope his immediate family dies.
I hope his extended family dies.
I hope his few mates die.

That about sums up my feelings right now.

:p

Newcastle have been terrible playing the ball out, for the past 30 mins Sunderland have been camped inside the newcastle half insanely vunerable to the counter, and instead Newcastle just keep gifting them the ball. Easy passes to Arfa(for most of the half) ignored in favour of just knocking it anywhere. Lazy clearances and not pushing out they're asking to lose.

They had the ball outside their own area, in relative safety with 4-5 passes on and instead just smashed it long and lost it.
