congrats to united and ferguson but it seems a bit of subdued 20th in all honesty and it's been a pretty sub par season on the whole.

the challenge for top 4 and relegation fights should make up for it. just hope united don't lose all momentum against arsenal now.

Congratulations MU.

Unlike a lot of gooners I don't really harbour much badwill towards RvP, as I said at the time I thought it was a good deal for all concerned (MU getting a great player, RvP getting a chance at glory as he hits 30, Arsenal getting a decent fee for a player who wasn't signing a new deal).

I do find myself wondering what might have been had he stayed fit back in say 2009-10 however, when we still had Cesc, Nasri etc. Got injured for like 5 months on international duty . I know around the end of March we were only a couple of points off the lead.... :(

what did we do with the fee?

I tell you what we did with the fee. Paid for the owners 1 month cruise around the caribbean.

champions league spot would have covered that cost aswell

Indeed but there are various factors to consider:
1) Arsenal still might qualify even without RvP
2) No guarantee that they would have qualified with RvP, given the fact he was obviously disillusioned with life at Arsenal and/or could have picked up on injury (that was my big fear - keep hold of him, he gets injured for months and that's £20m up the spout! Happened before to a lesser degree with Sol Campbell [turned down a £8m bid, he left the next summer for free after taking a spring break due to alleged mental problems])
3) The transfers may not have made sense if RvP was still at the club, and then not been possible once he left a year later

Fee effectively paid for Podolski & Giroud. He'd be leaving on a free in a month's time if he hadn't been sold.

We probably would have won a cup if he was still here or already have CL football wrapped up by now.

all that is more important then two average players.

both those players are not even half as good as RVP.

Stop talking rubbish, we have scored plenty of goals this season and thats without RVP so its not all bad. As for winning a cup?? seriously even when we had RVP we couldnt win a cup...what makes you think that having RVP would have won us a cup??. Thats one of the major reasons he left for gods sake.

But carry on with your rambling about RVP and how we could have won a trophy had he stayed.

Anyhow congrats to Utd for winning the title for the 20th time, an amazing achievement but had a lot of help due to City being so damn inconsistent. To be honest, Utd should have won it last yr as well but lost out on goal difference. Congrats to RVP, as much as i hate saying it but you finally yourself a trophy...enjoy.
