Well that would be true except I said CL was pointless last year and the year before. THere is 0% chance we can win the CL, so I don't care about it, I do laugh that people are so shallow that a tv channel can tell everyone that champions league means everything, therefore not having it is terribad.

Seriously tell me precisely what the champions league does. 10-15mil if you go out at the group stages, 15-25mil if you get a couple rounds further, 30-35mil if you win the thing.

Our stadium income is 100mil a year, our tv money is 70-80mil.... 15mil, wooo, thats make or break, particularly when we spend that much on 3-4 players wages a year, 3-4 players who offer nothing to Arsenal.

A "competant" club also has contracts that mean significant wage reduction on relegation, and a smart club has lower wages when out of the champs league/europa league.

Champions league means NOTHING to Arsenal, to a club with 20mil stadium income a year and 50mil tv money, 15mil is a far greater percentage.

Look at Newcastle, Stoke, Fulham, Everton, almost every single team that gets into Europe does significantly, massively worse, with basically the same squad. Thats natural, we'd have a better chance at winning the CL if we ignored the league, or vice versa, or a better chance at both domestic cups if we weren't in Europe.

Arsenal aren't fighting on ANY fronts except for the top 4, coming 5th, ignoring the Europa league would likely significant increase our chances at the FA cup, joke cup and the league.

Overall though, I don't much care for cups anyway, I want to be entertained, I watch 38 Arsenal league games a year, I'm more interested in watching them play WELL and exciting entertaining football than winning something playing turgid football. My argument above is simply, for fans who care only about silverware, what use is the champions league when we can't win it AND it makes our chances of the other cups worse? Money, which we're told over and over again is massive for a club, when simple maths suggests its a very small amount compared to the league? Wheres the logic, I've put up an argument for ways being out of the champions league can benefit Arsenal, wheres the argument for how it helps.

Guys like Falcao won't join a non champs league club? well ignoring that he left a champs league club(porto) for a non champs league club..... we can't afford a Falcao anyway, the few players who literally wouldn't join a non champs league club... won't join Arsenal anyway.

Fact is dropping out of 4th is the only way Wenger will walk or the board will push him, Wenger is overseeing a year on year worsening of the team, its not massively worse, but its worse. We're also financially very close to making a loss WITH the champs league money, why because Wenger gives Rosicky/Ramsey/Diaby WAY more money than they are worth.

Spurs will spend near enough 60million less than us on wages this year, and they are spending in the 90mil region, what are we getting for that extra money? That extra money is almost entirely out of Arsenal fans pockets.

So again, where is the argument that champs league means anything. The whole team will walk without champs league football? Well, most of the team won't because no champs league clubs will want any, and secondly, with champs league football all our best players walked anyway. INability to attract champs league quality players? Our best players in the past 15 years were the likes of Henry, Fabregas, RVP, Wilshire, none of whom were overly expensive, regarded as world talents, nor had the reputation that meant they could go where they wanted, Arsenal don't buy guys who can demand champs league football NOW, so what difference does not being in the champs league make?

You really really annoy me fella! I always seem to say this to you but you never come out with a proper answer. Do you not think the crippling of the club by Stan kroenke has an effect on Arsenal's ability to compete at the top top 1% ..eg.. doing the treble?

Lloris; Walker, Dawson, Verthongen, Ekotto; Dempsey, Parker, Dembele, Sigurdsson; Bale, Adebayor.

Hart; Zabaleta, Kompany, Nastasic, Clichy; Yaya, Barry, Milner, Nasri, Tevez; Dzeko.

Tottenham: Lloris, Walker, Dawson, Vertonghen, Assou-Ekotto, Sigurdsson, Dembele, Parker, Bale, Dempsey, Adebayor. Subs: Friedel, Huddlestone, Naughton, Defoe, Holtby, Livermore, Caulker.

Bale and Defoe recover from injury and are included, Lennon still injured.

I don't see us getting anything today, this is game 4 of 5 vital season defining games we have in succession and so far we have failed to deliver in the first 3 and those 3 were the easier of the 5. We are picking up injuries and our defence has looked a joke recently and it looks like we'll be stumbling over the finish line as usual.

Nastasic has been by far the most impressive defender in the league this season, makes everything look so easy :(

EDIT: Spurs very lucky there
