I'd imagine we'll appeal that red card. Very poor today, with Fulham looking like they were the team with 11 men... still, with us, 3 points when we're terrible is an achievement, usually we throw the game away and it's 3 points we absolutely had to get.

We didn't need 4th, no one at the club would leave instantly if we dropped out of the champions league places, because we don't have anyone big enough to do so, Ronaldo/Messi/Fabregas/RVP, sure, Ramsey, Giroud, Walcott, lol, not so much.

If we dropped out of the champs league, we could have a better run in other cups/league, spend one season ignoring Europe and go for the title, next season ignoring league, going for Europe, we don't have the quality to do both(well really either but), being in the champs league essentially means nothing, Sky tell us its great and means everything. DId Spurs fall apart when they didn't stay in it? ITs meaningless, and keeps us striving for mediocrity.

We played ruddy awful, but got the points, but thats largely because that is the team Wenger's built, and whats its built to do, grind out enough points against lower teams, fail against the big few, win nothing important.

Who cares about the champs league, half the games are boring dross against woeful european minnows, the other half we get beaten. I'd prefer us to lose 4th for a year and ditch Wenger, get someone who won't arbitrarily bench our best players, who gets rid of the dead weight and gives our youngsters a real chance.

I still laugh at Wenger's reputation as being great for young players, Eisfeld, Yennaris, really being given a chance to improve and get experience, thats fine, if they sucked, but they are actually quite good and can play in numerous positions we've played awful players in this season. Till we bought Monreal we sucked at left back and Yennaris and Coquelin are pretty handy there... so neither got a chance, like they didn't get the chance last year.

Getting champs league means nothing, improving the team and having to watch less dire football is what matters, winning today isn't important to either of those, so who cares.

Everyone above us gained points and everyone below us gained none. Not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing. Wigan on the last day of the season is starting to terrify me though :(.

Pick that one out! (toshj shirtless instead??)

Thankfully not. Iffy first half. It's bouncing everywhere, really bobbly pitch and wind. Not ideal conditions but we've got an excellent bench so hopefully Uwe will change it at 60. Nervy second half ahead :)

Yeah it's not the dream pitch to be playing on really. Ref also booked your captain for cleanly tackling someone from behind too which was a bit infuriating...

Second half should be fun to see!

Swansea 0 saints 0

2 well matched teams playing nice football, neither with quite enough final ball (despite Vorm getting pretty lucky with a drop and Lallana smashing it in just before the break).

It was one of the worst games I've seen at home all season.

Swans dominated for 20 mins but the crossing was poor, and couldn't kill the game with a clinical final ball. Second half saints played well and caused problems but the game got scrappy.

After the disallowed goal the swans came back for 15 mins with a clear cut chance and couldn't put it away 1 on 1. Michu was pretty anonamous today too, so I'd say it will be a contender for last on MOTD.

:(

Ah I was only really encouraged by spells of good possession both sides with some good passing, just lacking final balls from both sides. Both had good moments of dominating the game though which was interesting to see for a change as we both play a very good style of football. (instead of the usual one team dominates the ball and the other hits them on the break a lot)

Both back lines had good games and both keepers were on form more than anything else.

Has to be last on MOTD though, other than Lallana's disallowed goal not a huge amount to chat about.

Was it lambert that took the free kick? I saw it from behind and it was going top corner, except for an epic save from Vorm.

I'd take a draw but with the remaining fixtures we needed to get a win to secure top 10.

Good result today...about time we did that!

Blackpool are the worst team I have ever seen.

Most team around us failing to win again as well.

PS- From the BBC- "Substitute Kazenga LuaLua crossed for Barnes to tap in from close range for Brighton's fifth" ...that is the worst disservice I have ever seen to a goal!

Ref bottled that Brentford game a bit, a pools player should have been off and made some poor calls for everyone.

Yeah it was a Lambert effort, not quite enough power but still a great stop from Vorm. Both Vorm and Boruc were really on form with good blocks and decent saves.

Draw was fair though suits neither quite enough.

Totally off topic, I was at a pub quiz the other night, and a question was 'which English club are nicknamed the Stags' and one of our lot was absolutely sure it was Mansfield...but as he usually bull***** us that he knows answers, we overruled him and didn't put it....now he reckons he is some kind of expert on Mansfield, and spent most of the day updating us on their fortunes:D

Congratulations to Mansfield
