Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [19th - 26th December 2014]

It wasn't a red but you could kind of see why the ref gave it. From his angle it might have looked like Agbonlahor followed through on Young.

Really surprised that we managed to beat Everton, let alone by three goals. Everton really didn't pose that much of a threat which was amazing seeing as we had several first team players out injured and had to revert to a 5-3-2.
From a Saints pov Reed was excellent, as was Long and Davis. To win without Schneiderlin, Wanyama and Tadic showed how good today's result was.
That being said Schneiderlin will be off by the summer at the latest so it's going to be difficult to replace such a vital player.

Not expecting much today with way our form has been this season, Id like to see Sakho start but that would make logical tactical sense something that has escaped Rodgers all year.

I get it now. We are doing so poorly this year so that we can avoid cl all together and not have a ffp charge against us. Brilliant plan from the board and Brendan.

I'd write him off for the season and get him fit for next season now. Need to buy a proven striker in January though, Benteke or Bony will do but we'll be looking at Balotelli money or more to get either. That's if we don't get Origami back from Lille.

Bony is fantastic but has ACON. He'll be more expensive than Balotelli money too. At least £20mil but in Jan probably nearer £30mil.

Newcastle XI: Alnwick; Janmaat, Coloccini (c), S.Taylor, Dummett; Sissoko, Colback, Tiote; Gouffran, Perez, Ameobi.

****ing Gouffran.

The past two seasons it seems that Pardew has got the players so fired up that they just run around like headless chickens, and we've been punished for it. Hopefully today we'll go in with some semblance of a game plan.

It'll be a miracle if he doesn't get sent off today.

EDIT: Colback needs to be careful, too.

Fletcher hits the bar :o

We've really dropped off after a good start. Perez and Sissoko haven't seen much of the ball lately.
