Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [19th - 26th December 2014]

It's one of those, while the commentators(at least ones I'm hearing) are saying he was no where near the ball, he was actually pretty close to it. However he kicked through the ball and chose to early in a situation where doing so was going to kick Young very hard. It was stupid and reckless. if he'd gone in and not swung through the ball, just to tap it away it wouldn't be a red. But that he put in a large amount of follow through which was going to result in him smashing Young regardless of getting the ball, the red is an okay enough decision.

He was trying to kick Young. You don't go in for those when you are very unlikely to get there first and try to hoof it. If he didn't try to boot Young it wouldn't have been even a yellow but it shouldn't really have been a red.

Awful red card tbh. Slightly mistimed tackle that I probably wouldn't even give a yellow for. Turned his boot to block the ball and had his eye on the ball at all times.

The only time you go into hammer the ball away like that is when you are always winning the ball. He was second best by a long way and just kicked Young. Easy Yellow, harsh Red.

Pretty dumb way to kick someone if you're trying, looks painful.

Just seen this decision for city. Unbelievable, I'm sure it all balances out in the end though right

It wasn't even close to a mistimed tackle, it was a definite red. AS I said when someone is going to be there you don't kick through the player, there is no advantage to kicking through the player. There was no chance of anything happening except smashing Young and he did this, he only swung through very late. He intended to kick Young but make it look like he was going for the ball, he hid it badly.
