Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [19th May 2013]

I think the reason for calling a large section of Chelsea supporters classless is based on more than just today.

Thankfully, most of the Chelsea fans that post on here are fairly sensible.

Indeed, I can certainly think of one who thankfully doesn't post very often who is a definite nutter though.

How long do Arsenal have left on the stadium loan? Maybe once that is paid off they will spend every year?
Tbh they are still a couple years off spending decent amounts if they stick to the model of only spending football-income only.

That said I'm sure yet another CL qualification will do wonders for them given they are looking around for a new kit sponsor where they're talking about an increase of around 20 million a season or thereabouts.

I suspect the banners has been the same classless minority throughout though. The minority are often the loudest because they are given the press.

Most Chelsea fans appricate his work, respect him, don't make banners but are glad it's interim.

Also funny stat for Arsenal

2010/11 - 4th place - 68 points GF 72 GA 43 GD +29

*sell Fabregas*

2011/12 - 3rd place - 70 points GF 74 GA 49 GD +25

*sell RVP*

2012/13 - 4th place - 73 points GF 72 GA 37 GD +35

I can therefore only draw the conclusion that Arsenal need to identify and sell their best player once again to improve on this year's result :p

Well now that Arsenal have finished 4th there is no way the board will allow Arsene to spend any money because they obviously have a good enough squad to get there in the first place ;).

Either Spurs or Arsenal deserved the 4th spot this year, it just so happened that Arsenal had a fantastic end to the season and really got the results they needed with Spurs dropping points to teams that should never have been a problem.

Oh well, a great end to the season and now to look forward to next year which I can see being one of the most exciting yet, what with all of the changes to the teams up at the top.

Was it **** the minority at the start

Of course it wasn't. It'd be the same reaction if Fergie turned up at the Kop.

The way he spoke about the club before he arrived he was always getting that reaction. But over time the majority respected what he did. One or two muppets at the end always get the press, it's a better story.

Gervinho is definitely the best player! He's worth at least £30m. :D

cannot believe all the arsenal supporters getting excited about 4th. The CL is much poorer for the presence of Arsenal compared to Spurs who at least try to play the modern football game instead of a money pinching game of sim city 4

Playing modern football = spending bagloads of money?

Tell that to Dortmund. Or, indeed, QPR!

Wonder if Bale will be another Torres if he leaves. Spurs are built around him and unless the team he goes to does the same he will never have the same impact as he's had at Spurs this season.

I'm not sure why you think this? Bale is Spurs best and most influential player, but I wouldn't say they are built around him.

Many of his important goals have just come out of the blue, like the one today. It's not as if the majority of his goals come from well worked team moves.

He's a lot like Ronaldo in that respect, just not as good.
