Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [19th May 2013]

On night shifts atm, woke up at HT and by the time I'd showered and got dressed it was 1-0 and the game was nearly over, was horribly anxious near the end!

No mate.

Also this feels like it's going to be the first summer in a few years where we don't have a big player leaving - feels like it might be the first time in a good few years where we can start improving the squad rather than having to keep patching it up (badly). Setting myself up for disappointment no doubt!

One win better off than the often said to be tactically clueless, moron that is Redknapp, despite Bale being better.

3 points better off despite having a new manager and after losing two of our most influential players in the summer. That's pretty good going even if the main objective was missed.

Record PL points total, record PL away wins, first win at Old Trafford since records began, etc. Even if Bale leaves, I think Spurs with AVB in charge can look forward to the future.

Also sad about the retirements, I'm not sure who in the current PL will be missed when they come to retire in the coming years, too many foreigners.

Giggs? I'm sure they'll be those who will be sad when Gerrard and Lampard call it a day also, albeit nowhere near on the same scale as some of those who have retired this week ;)

We're in a really decent position to start next season really well, we're in a great position financially, we don't have to worry about repayments on the stadium and we don't have a squad based around one player any more. I think we're lacking a bit of bite up front but the squad has done well overall to replace the goals scored by RvP last season. A couple of additions to the squad and we'll be much stronger challengers next season, the team seems to have a new found belief which has been displayed by some really gritty results in 2013. :)

only going by the SSN coverage earlier but they did show a few "thanks Rafa" and "we forgive you" banners as well, so at least it's not entirely one sided
I was referring to the supporters that had those banners rather than all of them because a lot did warm to him and get behind the team.

Bale to leave Spurs now then?
I don't think he will, unless there is a huge bid from outside the Premier League. The pain of missing out two seasons in a row might even strengthen his resolve to stay at Spurs because of unfinished business.

It's going to be an interesting transfer window that's for sure.

I agree those who kept jeering most of the season are complete and utter ***hats
Some even refused to give him any praise on 606. One said he only won the Europa League to further his own career and another said the players ran the club and he had nothing to do with the Europa League win and CL qualification. The two callers that praised him said they would probably be lynched for supporting him :o

Most of the people in this thread are complete tools tbh.
Does this count as a personal attack against a whole thread of posters? :p

Just seen Bale's goal

Stupid how many blinders he's scored since Christmas, shame for him RVP's against Villa was better than all of them :p

I think the reason for calling a large section of Chelsea supporters classless is based on more than just today.

Thankfully, most of the Chelsea fans that post on here are fairly sensible.

If only we could say the same for even a handful of Liverpool fans.

Thanks for the compliment though ;)

Purdy, could you bum Benitez any more if you tried?

It's just Liverpool in general really. Blinkers - red blinkers. Probably thinks the Suarez 10 game ban was 'harsh'.
