Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [19th May 2013]

I would rather Arsenal got fourth so Bale goes to a top club, him in a Citeh/Chelski/ManU

I think we will get murdered today, we always do by Arsenal.

Problem with saying that, is that Berbatov was garbage and Modric simply wasn't as influential as Spurs fans thought he was and was easily replaceable.

Bale on the other hand is actually a highly effective player and single handedly influences games to a level way above any thing Berbatov and Modric did combined.

well you're wrong but anyway.....

With Timber in goal I can see it being quite a long game. I can't recall the last time he even attempted a dive. Poor guy, hopefully he goes out with a bang.

The last two results at your ground have been draws so there's hope for you and Spurs yet. I don't trust this Arsenal team at all, I think they need 2 quick goals and then hang on :p

End of an era with Fergie, Scholes, Beckham, Owen and Carragher all leaving the game (possibly Phil Neville as well?)

Getting a tad nervous now. Come on Newcastle, we let you beat us at the start of the season, now return the favour pleasethankyou.

And we have to beat Sunderland ofc.

Cant wait, what a end to the season. Cant wait for next season

How will Moyes do
Who will be Chelsea manager
Who will be City manager
Who will be Everton
Will Spurs still have bale
Will Rooney move
Wenger still at the gunners?

For now all eyes on 4th. Come on you Spurs, also come on Newcastle

The bang will be him hitting the deck and rocking buildings in a five mile radius. :p

Love big Stevie, great player for the club.

Lets skip next season now :p:D

Prediction:

Newcastle go 1-up against Arsenal in the first ten minutes.
Spurs (i.e. Bale) scores to put Spurs into the lead against Sunderland.
Lots of frayed nerves.
85th minute, Walcott has a tame shot that somehow slips under the Newcastle keeper. 1-1.
92nd minute, Newcastle score an o.g. Arsenal guarantee their place in the CL.
94th minute, Sunderland get a penalty and equalise meaning that it was all for nothing anyway.
Final whistle: John Terry turns up in full Arsenal kit to celebrate with the players.

Liverpool team's apparently Reina, Johnson, Carragher, Skrtel, Enrique, Lucas, Henderson, Shelvey, Downing, Coutinho, Sturridge although Ibe was meant to be starting.

The last time we'll see Carragher, hopefully Downing and Shelvey and maybe Reina in a Liverpool shirt.

Johnson too possibly? Talk of a move to Spain?

He's not 'wrong' per-say, Berbatov certainly wasn't garbage and he's underrating Modric however he is correct in that neither player had as big an influence over Spurs as Bale does. Without Bale Spurs are decidedly mid table and certainly not top 5 quality

I completely disagree. We might not have a top 4 side without Bale but we've still go a squad as strong as Liverpool or Everton.

Lloris, Vetoghen, Kaboul, Walker, Demeble, Sandro, Lennon, Holtby, etc. are all very decent players.

You've also got to remember that AVB's tactics and team selections are based around maximising Bale's influence. He has a big influence (on most games, not all) because AVB gives him the freedom to switch positions.

Without Moyes I don't see Everton as a top 6 side either, as for Liverpool if Spurs lose Bale I don't see many match winners there unlike Liverpool who have the likes of Suarez and Coutinho

Its opinion based on the squads as they are though, Spurs may lose Bale and invest the money in players that leave them less reliant on just one player
