Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [1st - 5th November 2019]

*******s the size of watermelons. Not sure I'll live long enough to see us win the title if we carry on at this rate :o

We deserved that though to be fair. We weren't great in the 1st half but could have easily been level going in at HT - the Firmino offside was as tight as you'll see and Mane's 'dive' was a pen. Second half we were relentless though and it was only a matter of time before we scored, even if it came so late that a winner looked impossible.

I hope there's some footage of the Etihad at FT of their game - their stadium announcer would have no doubt read out the current scores. I do hope there wasn't too many cheers when he told them we were drawing 1-1.

I love you both.
I love you too :p

Boos at FT at the emirates, yet again we look like we've set up to defend rather than attack. Again we've been out shot by the opposing team, Unai's gotta go.

Yeah my patience has run out now i think. We are playing worse than the last bit of Wenger's reign. Create barely any chance no matter who we play against and no defensive cohesion at all.

Liverpool are relentless this season

Not even sure when we will win a game anytime soon. That’s utterly depressing that yet again we drop points against teams we should be smashing into the ground with the amount of talent we have.

Unai has to go simple as that. He’s had a season to get used to the league and he still hasn’t got a clue.

At this rate we will end up losing Auba and Laca amongst a few others. Who the **** wants to play for a team that can’t even beat teams below us.

I can now see why at PSG he didn’t last very long. He caused an issue with Neymar then comes to Arsenal and caused a rift with Ozil. Completely utterly clueless.

Without googling, my memories of the Liverpool of old from the 80s was they had this amazing ability to score regularly in the final ~15mins of games, this season seems to be earning that same reputation.

Well at least Southampton kept the score more honest than against Leicester, shame they still lost though.

Quite impressive what Lampard is doing at Chelsea, giving his relative inexperience and the transfer ban.

From the naked eye it looks like it's on but I'd trust the hawk eye tech over my eyes.

VAR used Firmino's hand as a reference to draw a line from, that was the only part of him offside. You can't score with your hand, silly robot.

Can’t wait for arsenal to play Chelsea lol. It’s going to be a massacre for us.

Fat frank has Chelsea playing damn well, I would say they have a better chance of getting top 4 than Arsenal this season.

Losing Hazard hasn’t made a dent in their attitude.

Emery: "It's a bad result, but tactically it worked how we wanted."

It's quotes like that after matches that convince me he isn't the man for the job. He must be seeing something we're not out there because we always look like we're not 100% sure what to do and the lack of cohesion across all areas of the pitch is worrying.

Individual talent is keeping him in a job, nothing more.

Lol how the hell has it worked?? We dropped 2 points and by end of week we will be further back in the race for top 4.

How on earth does he think that our performance today worked how we wanted??
Like I said I can see why he was universally loathed at PSG. Only reason he did well is due to the amount of money PSG have at their disposal. He caused a huge rift with Neymar then comes to Arsenal and causes a rift with Ozil.

At the rate we are going, we will be in a battle for mid table with Utd:p.

Its very harsh to completely blame Emery...the players have to take responsibility sometimes. Today for eg, we won but the players on the pitch missed a handful of chances. That isnt Klopps fault, he can hardly influence it.

When it happens once or twice, yes but when it continues to happen then you're picking and buying the wrong players. That said, the Arsenal job is near impossible right now. I mentioned it the other night, and it's been the case since Wenger's last few years, Arsenal are a toxic club. Arsenal could win 5 games on the bounce but they're always a dropped point away from the next meltdown. There's too much wrong with the ownership & board and years of perceived underperformance on the pitch has lead to their supporters literally going nuts, turning on managers, players and themselves.

Short of going on a 15+ game winning run, the only way I see Arsenal coming out of this rut is a Klopp type appointment, who everybody falls in love with on day 1, who will stand up to supporters and tell them they have to be patient and to support the side and nobody dare criticise or question.

Who in your opinion would that be though? For me Arsenal need to be looking at a Simeone type appointment...not the prettiest at football but can sort a defence out.

Lol Emery is THE one to blame, he’s the one who picked the players to play. He is the one who sets the tactics for how we play.
So get outta here with your nonsense that Emery isn’t the one to blame:p. It’s completely on him to get the best out of the players we have and right now he is nowhere close to getting anything out of our squad.

Im not saying he isnt to blame...im saying you cant just point the finger at Emery like hes the only issue. Your signings have been trash...who's in charge of that? Is he at fault for Xhaka reacting like he did? Is it his fault that Kolasinac and Ozil were attacked like they were? Who knows how that affected them.

Ultimately the manager takes the hit....but his "tools" he's working with are crap.

This is quite an entertaining game between Chelsea and Watford. End to end stuff, Watford have come quite close to equalising a few times.

No idea but it will need to be somebody of the status as Simeone, somebody that everybody will get behind.
