Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [2 - 3rd February 2013]

Let's count the keeper mistakes today, and see how many are reported about heavily.

Cech: Didn't dive for the first goal (makes it 1-0), pushed Goufrans shot to Sissoko for the second goal and didn't dive for the rebound (makes it 2-2).
Howard: Hesitated whether to come out for the 3rd goal (makes it 3-1).
Federici: Poor save just before the Larsson penalty shout (possible pen)
Mingolet: Followed the ball from the corner, never attempting to get it and got caught out behind his own players (makes it 2-1)
Of note, both keepers also made awesome saves to keep it 1-1 at the time of the saves. Special mention to Bramble for being his usual inept self.
Al Habsi: Demostrates what would have happened if De Gea did what most people said he should have done, only this led to a goal, De Gea would have conceeded a penalty.

Nor did he dive for the rebound which he shoukd have

Ridiculous how chelsea didnt get a pen for that not that I didnt enjoy it.

John Terry is so unbelievably abysmal, Cahill does it all by himself, although he has this tendency to try and make clearences look more 'epic' instead of just getting rid

Has there been a season in recent years where the title winning side have scraped their way to so many wins? If you didn't watch Utd play and just looked at the table you'd think this was an incredible side cruising their way through the season but it seems like they've made hard work of 90% of their games.

It's a weird season, how many times this year have City got a draw or win in the last few minutes? It seems like they could be 20 points behind by now as well. Last year I loved watching them, this year Mancini seems to have sucked the life out of them. The top 4 are all pretty dreadful this year. A poor standard of football this year for me anyway.

Frank you scored 5 goals or more in 4/5 games last year in the league, pretty sure you battered plenty of teams

apart from the Arsenal match, Utd never scored more than 5 in the league

There were four other matches where we did score 5 though (Bolton, Fulham and Wolves - all away fixtures. and Wigan at home......I guess the drubbing we got from City makes those seem so inconsequential lol

Home and GUTTED we dropped 2 points at the DW! They were GASH! We had EVERYTHING especially second half and threw it away :(

We'll stay up but the hard way by beating city or something not the easy way by beating the teams around us!

Sounds harsh but Wigan half filled their ground on the cheap and had the cheek to not loose! Along with pay off the ref and linesman for what a foul throw was. A bit gay having a goal given against us from one...

I'll take a point regardless. It'll do, not enough but at least a start to stay up (and keep QPR down)

ARGH!!!!!!!!! WHAT **** LEFT MALONY!!!

At least MOTD a. see's schniderlin as THE BEST PLAYER OF ALL TIME and b. should have won!

I know, thats why I said 5 goals or more

So who knew anything about that Sissoko lad before today?

I have a French mate (lives in Bordeaux or Marsielle, I keep forgetting which) well an English mate who moved to France 6 or 7 years ago, who I keep in regular contact with as he is a big Toon fan.

He has been banging on about him for years (along with Cabaye and Deb before they joined) about how amazing he is and how we should be signing him. He mentioned a year or so Brit papers picked it up that Newcastle were sniffing around and have had him in their sights for ages.

So I knew of him, I knew he was good but to be fair I had never watched him first hand to see how good he actually was.
