Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [2 - 3rd February 2013]

Hmm 1 point won, or 2 points dropped, think that sums it up for both City and L'Pool, though probably more for L'Pool

Reina knows he ****ed us,his reaction then proves it, we deserved to win that a point better than nothing but we did deserve more. Sturridge was excellent along with every one else Gerrard goal was ace, downing poo, great signs for the future too if we play like that consistently

Deserved the win but a reina howler cost us 2pts. Like how the team is coming along under rodgers. More positives than negatives.
Defence needs sorting ASAP. They've been solid as a rock since Reina joined but this is the weakest physically and mentally I can remember us looking since the days of David James, Phil Babb and John Scales etc. Very worrying.

Wow, we had a ****-ton of shots lol! I think Rodgers will be happy with that performance, but think Pepe will get a rollicking for that **** poor decision making. Sure you could say Skrtel should have blasted the inital ball into Row Z, but Aguero still had 3 players to beat, including Pepe, from a tight angle if he had only stood on his line.

More positives than negatives, everything is coming along very nicely under Rodgers. WBA next week, 3 points please Brendan :D

Just like in midweek, hugely frustrating result. We were much the better side throughout the game but just seem to find ways to throw these games away. I much preferred the way we set-up today with Suarez central and Henderson on the left, and Sturridge was hugely impressive too; held up the ball, brought players into the game and took his goal very well.

Regarding their 2nd goal; it's something Reina does a lot - force the striker out wide then drops back into goal - and it usually works. Aguero was probably heading wide enough to not need to today but ultimately it's a freak finish that's cost us.

I feel dirty for saying it but thank you Liverpool. Should have won that, but will take City droping 2 points , Im sure SAF will be happy to be "only" 9 points ahead.

Utd need to focus on the Everton game though - it could be a nightmare and I wouldnt be surprised if come next Monday Utd are worse off than they were two days ago.

International break couldnt have come before a worse fixture for Utd imo

Shoildve won, better team, Reina vs Skrtel for howler of the year vs city award

Told some people we'd get a result, pity a shocking one

Did sturridge dive? Shouldve celebrated in front of the nob heads

That flare is boss

Agreed Reina usually does it very well and was freakish but we had the cover to leave Skrtel on him, that said I await the scapegoat brigade to sell him after some great work today

That's the last of our real hard games. We now face most of the teams around us at home as well as the relegation candidates home and away so we really need a proper run of results to start climbing the table. I think that's possible given the way we've been playing, just need another Norwich type result to get the confidence back.

Don't think our confidence will be down, defence will just remain hilarious, Enrique never shouldve come off despite doing dumb stuff with the ball a lot, we were on the front fooy goimg for the third

Regardless of the cover, Aguero was running wide enough for him to have not needed to today. The fact that Aguero's gone so wide is what's got him the goal too; generally in those situations your cb's get back on the line but both Skrtel and Carra were expecting a cross and didn't drop back.

Reina's form since coming back from his injury earlier in the season has been excellent and he kept us in the game at times in midweek - it was a misjudgment today but I won't be calling for his head anytime soon.
