Is that true?
I think so but if you look at Spurs season
http://stats.football365.com/dom/ENG/teams/TottenhamHot.html
I think he was injured for those games at City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Wigan, period of the season, so its not surprising, had he played they'd likely have lost the games they lost anyway, maybe not Wigan, if conversely he'd been fit for those games and miss 4 games of which 3 were against bottom 3 teams, that stat would be very different, stats are useful, context is everything.
Arsenal.... I'm still lolling hard at all those people after only 3 games who claimed that for a fact Arsenal's defence looked vastly improved and Bould was obviously having a huge impact........ ok, sure
Arsenal as crap defensively as ever. Position across the whole back four was poor but Verm deciding to try and mark the ADebayor run without paying any attention to what was behind him, at worst the ball gets through to Ade, he'd be running towards the wing, not goal and no direct danger, but in doing so left a freaking huge gap for Bale. However Monreal was just as bad because he could see Bale, and did nothing about moving into that gap.
Second goal, Monreal both tried to play offside by stopping no where near in line with Vermaelen, and stopped marking the run, best thing to do would be mark the run and ONLY once he was the only defender to make the difference could he allow Bale to go offside, Verm wasn't exactly great for that goal either because he had no idea about the run. Honestly exactly nothing about Monreal has impressed me so far, defensively I've been very unimpressed, recently he failed to block a cross because he didn't even put his leg out, just let it happen, seems very easy to go around and makes mistakes like those today.
Defensively rubbish and offensively not good enough, we had loads of the ball but never really felt very threatening. Spurs, were a bit cack overall, took advantage of some woeful defending, except Sig/Bale chance where Sig passed it to the defender instead of shooting or a good pass to Bale.
When we put them under pressure there was very little pressure from the Spurs midfield, very few players closing down, but at the same time, when they broke it wasn't with any great numbers, it felt for long portions of the game like Spurs were a man or two down.
Lastly, Arteta, lol, Adebayor got flattened by him a few times, he held back loads of people and caught Lennon in the first minute or so yet didn't get a card, wasn't very good and should have been on a yellow within 10 mins and would probably have been pushing his luck by half time with the number of fouls he was commiting.
